I will bring many Scriptures that speak of Armageddon.

Daniel 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. (KJV)
It is the time of the end . . . NOT the end of time. It is the end which Daniel has had in mind all through this section, which is the last days of the nation Israel, which the Lord Jesus labeled the Great Tribulation (Mat.24:21).
The king of the south is clearly a ruler of Egypt, but it is impossible for us to identify him. Egypt has not had a native ruler for years. God has done a pretty good job of putting over that nation the basest of rulers. However, this one who is going to arise at the time of the end will probably unite all of Africa as no leader of Egypt has ever been able to do, and he will come against Antichrist. The king of the north is more easily identified. He takes the place of the Seleucidae dynasty, and I think he is the one who comes out of the north mentioned in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. The king of the north, I believe is Russia. Russia will open the WAR of Armageddon which will not be just a battle, but I think a drawn out war. The way things are today, I think this is very close! It is difficult to relate the rest of this chapter with the history of Antiochus, because it probably points characteristically to the Antichrist. Only one historian ever mentioned an expedition under Antiochus into Egypt at the end of his reign. This passage must then be either a prediction of activities of the future Antichrist, or a summation of the facts of Antiochus's first expedition to Egypt 171-170 B.C. (Dan.11:22, 25, 41), his former invasion of Judah (Dan.11:28, 42-42), and the second and third invasions of Egypt 169 and 168 B.C. (Dan.11:23-24, 29-30).
At the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him . . . in the last times, this cannot be true of Antiochus, who died the eleventh year of his reign, for these things are joined to the last resurrection (Dan.12:2).
The king of the South and the king of the North will simultaneously attack this ruler of the west, the little horn, at the end time. Some say the king of the North may be a ruler from the area of ancient Assyria. Yet, he will overflow and pass over them to conquer the two kings (Dan.7:8, 24). The events of verses 40-45 takes place in the second half of the 70th week, the last 3 ½ years of the Tribulation. The kings of the south and the north will attack the Antichrist.

Daniel 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. (KJV). . . when Antiochus marched against Ptolemy, he did not meddle with Edom, Moab and Ammon on the side of Judea. It seems that he used their help in crushing the Jews, of whom they were the ancient enemies. This might be applied to Antiochus, although it seems to me that it also points to the future. The king of the future (Antichrist) will not attack Edom, Moab and Ammon . . . the ancient enemies of the Jews. Yet he will use their help in his attack on the Jews. But Israel will have the final vengeance (Isa.11:14). The pleasant land: (Dan.8:9; 11:16, 41, 45; Ps.48:2; 105:24; Jer.3:19; Eze.20:6, 15; Zec.7:14)
But these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon . . . Edom, Moab and Ammon are the territories where the sons of Ishmael (the Arabs) are today. The Antichrist will enter the pleasant land and defeat many there in the last half of the Tribulation. Ishmael was/is the father of the Arabs (Gen.16:12; 25:12-14)

Daniel 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (KJV). . . The countries referred to here must be the three kingdoms he will subdue (Dan.7:24), in addition to the rest of the ten kingdoms of Revised Rome that will submit to him (Rev.17:12-17), plus Libya and Ethiopia (Dan.11:43).
The land of Egypt shall not escape. . . IF the wars of Daniel 11:5-34 are only between Syria and Egypt, and IF the last-day war of Daniel 11:40-43 is between Syria and Egypt, ending with the overthrow of Egypt (the king of the south) by Syria (the king of the north), then it settles the question as to where Antichrist comes from. It seems that he arises from Syria and will fulfill the following prophecies: (Dan.7:8, 19-27; 8:9-14, 22;25; 9:27; 11:40-45; 12:1-7; Rev.6:1-8; 13 ;1-18; 16:13-16; 17:8-17; 19:19-21).

Daniel 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. (KJV)
The Antichrist will have control of all the wealth of this world. He will control the entire money markets of the world at that time. Libya and Ethiopia will surrender to him and he will control Africa. Egypt, the Libya and Ethiopia . . . Egypt would be destroyed and her allies threatened. This king of the north could be Antiochus who had attacked Egypt at various times, but in my opinion, this points to the yet future little horn (Dan.7:8) who will bring war against these southern countries.

Daniel 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. (KJV) . . . tidings out of the east means the Orient with its swarming millions (Rev.9:13-21). A great army will come from there to the Battle of Armageddon, and this world ruler will be troubled. Dear one, at that time, there will be absolutely NO hope whatsoever for God's people, EXCEPT God Himself.

Daniel 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. (KJV) . . . it seems that the Antichrist will make his capital the yet to be built Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, between the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean Sea in the glorious holy mountain, Mount Moriah (Gen.22:2, 14; 2 Chron.3:1); yet he shall come to an end at Armageddon (Dan.7:11, 26-27; 8:25; 9:27; 2 Thes.2:8; Rev.19:19-21). None shall help him . . . his army will be destroyed except a sixth part (Eze.39:2). His supernatural backers (Satan, bad angels and demons) will be cast into the bottomless pit (Rev.20:1-3; Isa.24:21-22), and he will be left alone to die eternally, as all evil men must do (Rev.19:20).
The events of verses 40-45 takes place in the second half of Daniel’s seventieth seven . . . second half, the last 3 ½ years of the Tribulation.

Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (KJV)
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle . . . this is speaking of that which shall take place in "that day" the Great Tribulation. The prophet Joel speaks of this (Joel 3:2-11); Ezekiel also spoke of the "many people" (Eze.38:6,15,22), which shall come under Gog. "I will gather" . . . God will summon His army . . . the "nations" really do it themselves because of their joint hatred of Israel. "All nations" . . . the revived Roman Empire, with Antichrist as their leader, which shall at that time have complete rule over all the nations of the world.
The apostle John foretells of a universal strife at the end.
Rev.16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (KJV)
Rev.20:7-9 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. (KJV)
NO creature anywhere, at any time, can do anything unless God allows and wills it. Satan's frenzy against God's people, is His instrument against them (Dan.11:35-45; 12:10-11).
And the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished, and half of the city shall go into captivity . . . this will be the time when the outward court shall be given, to the Gentiles, "the great whore" (Rev.17:1-6); the two witnesses shall be slain, and their enemies shall rejoice and send gifts to one another (Rev.11:2). This will be a very trying time, and such a time of trouble as has not been known (Mat.24:21).
And the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city . . . there is a small remnant of the Jews according to the election of grace, always has been, always shall be. Christ will reserve a seed for Himself in that horrible time, as He has always done. This cannot refer to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans, for then all the inhabitants of the city were cut off, or carried captive, and none left. This has to refer to what will happen in the Great Tribulation when the army of Gog shall come against Jerusalem in the latter day; though these circumstances are not mentioned in Ezekiel. Gog and Magog: (Gen.10:2; 1 Chron.1:5; 5:4; Eze.38:2; 39:6; ch.38 & 39; Rev.20:8-9).
Some say that Gog is the same as the "little horn" of Daniel 7 & 8, meaning the Antichrist. I disagree to some extent. I believe Gog and Magog are nations or kingdoms that are 'haters of God and His people,' that shall be under the thumb of the Antichrist. But, my friend, I am not the Bible scholar that some are . . . or do I claim to be. I am just a humble servant of my Lord Jesus.
The "little horn" in Dan.7:8 is still out somewhere in the future, and he is one and the same as the "beast" (the Antichrist) in Rev.13.

Scriptures prove this fact!
#1. Both are conquerors (Dan. 7:8, 20-24; Rev. 6:1-2).
#2. Both speak blasphemies (Dan. 7:8,20-26; Rev. 13:5).
#3. Both prevail against saints (Dan. 7:21-25; Rev. 13:7).
#4. Both control the ten horns (nations) (Dan. 7:20-25; Rev. 13:1; 17:12-14).
#5. Both change the times and laws (Dan. 7:11,21-27; Rev. 13:17).
#6. Both are slain and given to the burning flame by the same Person and at the same time (Dan. 2:44-45; 7:9-11, 18, 25-27; Rev. 19:11-21).
#7. Both reign over the ten horns (nations) "until the Ancient of days comes . . . and the saints possess the kingdom" (Dan. 2:44-45; 7:8-11, 18, 21-22, 25-27; Rev. 17:12-14; 19:11-21).
#8. Both are destroyed at the Second Coming of Christ (Dan. 2:44-45; 7:9-14; Rev. 19:11-21).
#9. Both continue for the same time period (Dan. 7:25; Rev. 11:2-3; 12:6, 14- 13:5- 19:11-21).
#10. Immediately following both, the Kingdom of Heaven is set up (Dan. 2:44-45; 9-14, 21-27; Luke 1:32-35; Isa.9:6-7; Rev. 19:11-21-20:1-6).
#11. Both come out of the ten kingdoms and subdue three others (Dan. 7:7-8, 23-24; 8:8-9, 20-24- Rev. 6:1-2; 13:1-5; 17:12-17).
#12. Both rise "after" the ten horns (nations) (Dan. 7:7-8, 23-24; 8:23; Rev. 13:1-7; 17:12-17).
#13. Both are kings of fierce countenance (Dan. 7:8-25; 8:23; Rev. 13:1-18; 17:12-17, 2 Thes.2:8-12).
#14. Both cause craft (deceit, treachery,witchcraft) to prosper (Dan. 7:8, 20-26; 8:25; 2 Thes.2:4-12; Rev. 13:1-18).
#15. Both exalt themselves (Dan. 7:8, 20-26; 8:25; 2 Thes.2:4-12; Rev. 13:1-18).
#16. Both fight against Christ at His Coming (Dan. 7:20-25; 8:25; Rev. 17:12-17; 19:11-21; 2 Thes.2:8-12).
#17. Both shall be destroyed "without hand" (Dan. 2:44,45; 7:9-11, 22-27; 8:25; Rev. 19:11-21; 2 Thes.2:8-12).
#18. Both do according to their own will for the same length of time (Dan. 7:25; 8:24; 11:36; 2 Thes.2:8-12; Rev. 13:5-7).
#19. Both will be alive at the Second Coming of Christ (Dan. 7:11, 8:22-25; 9:27 11:40-45; 2 Thes.2:8-12; Rev. 19:19-21).
#20. Both will cause the Great Tribulation (Dan. 7:21-27; 8:23-25; 9:27; 11:40-45; 12:1,7; Mat. 24:15-31; 2 Thes.2:1-12; Rev. 7:14; 13:1-18; 14:9-11; 15:2-4; 20:4-6).
#21. Both will do away with the Jewish sacrifices in Jerusalem (Dan. 7:25; 8:24; 9:27; 11:35-45; 12:7; Mat. 24:15).
#22. Both will reign from the Jewish temple in Jerusalem (Dan. 8:9-14; 9:27; 11:45; 12:7- 2 Thes. 2:4; Rev. 11:1-2; 13:1-18).
#23. Both will disregard the God of their fathers (Dan. 7:11; 19:25; 8:22-25; 9:27; 11:38-39; John 5:43).
#24. Both will worship Satan and get their power from him (Dan. 8:24; 11:35-45; 2 Thes.2:8-12; Rev. 13:1-4).

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (KJV) . . . the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah, the bondage of the children of Israel in Egypt, their captivity in Babylon and all their distresses and afflictions in the times of the Maccabees, are nothing to be compared with the calamities which shall befall the Jews in the Tribulation Period.

Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (KJV) . . . the elect here no doubt means Christians

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: (KJV) . . . the images here used are not to be taken literally, but symbolically. They are often used by the sacred writers to mean any great calamities, such as the darkening of the sun and moon, and the falling of the stars would be an inexpressible calamity, so any great catastrophe, any overturning of kingdoms or cities, or dethroning of kings and princes, is represented by the darkening of the sun and moon, and by some terrible convulsion in the elements. The destruction of Babylon is foretold in similar terms (Isa.13:10); and of Tyre (Isa.24:23). The slaughter in Bozrah and Idumea is predicted in the same kind of language (Isa.34:4).

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (KJV) . . . And then shall appear the sign of the son of man in heaven . . . at the destruction of Jerusalem, the sign or evidence of His Coming was found in the fulfillment of His predictions. At the end of the world, after the Tribulation, the sign of His Coming will be His Personal appearance with the glory of His Father and the holy angels (1 Thes.4:16; Lk.21:27; Mat.25:31; 26:64; Acts 1:11).
All then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn . . . meaning all the tribes or people of the land of Judea shall mourn at the great calamities coming upon them at the destruction of Jerusalem, and at the Meggido (Armageddon) at the end of the Tribulation Period (Zec.12:10). . . or all the nations of the world shall wail when He comes on Judgment Day (Rev.20:. All the wicked shall mourn at the prospect of their doom (Rev.1:7). The cause of their wailing on Judgment Day shall mainly be that they have pierced, killed and rejected the Saviour, and that they deserve the condemnation that is coming to them (Jn.19:37; Zec.12:10-12; Rev.1:7).

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (KJV)
Angels are literally messengers, (Lk.7:24; 9:52). God employs angels to rescue His people from danger (Ps.104:4). This seems to refer rather to the end of the world; and no doubt its main application was intended to be to the gathering of His elect, on Judgment Day.
With a great sound of a trumpet . . . Jewish assemblies used to be called together by the sound of a trumpet (Lev.25:9; Num.10:2; Judg.3:27). They shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other . . . the elect means Christians, the chosen of God.

Some of the things that will happen before and at Armageddon.
God has promised to judge and condemn ALL unsaved evildoers.

Rev. 9:17-18 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. [18] By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. (KJV) . . . John sees horses and riders on them. The riders wore armor that was fiery red and sky blue and yellow. The horses' heads were like the heads of lions, and fire and smoke and burning sulfur billowed from their mouths. One-third of all the people on earth were killed by these three plagues . . . by the fire, smoke and burning sulfur that came from the mouths of the horses.

Some say these are modern day tanks. This could be. I will NOT say “No these are not tanks.” But, this could be demons or demon-controlled men. Three plagues are mentioned: (1) Fire. (2) Smoke. (3) Brimstone. ALL of these are literal (real), and all of these took place when God’s judgment came down on Sodom and Gomorrah, causing total destruction. Unlike the “locusts” in verse 5 who just tortured people, these horses and their riders will cause death. Unlike the total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the result of this judgment will be 1/3 of the world’s population dying. There are so many who say “I can’t understand the Book of Revelation.” Maybe one of the major problems is, they refuse to BELIEVE it! If you simply read it and believe it (believe GOD), it becomes very clear! We need NOT know every detail! All we need to know is that God does NOT lie! He plainly states that these things shall happen! Believe Him!

Rev. 14:19-20 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. [20] And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. (KJV) . . . This angel swung his sickle on the Earth and put the grapes into the great winepress of God's wrath. The grapes were then trodden in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse's bridle.
The “winepress” is the wrath of God, and He is shedding the blood of His wicked enemies. The blood will run deep and long; as high as the horse bridles is over 3 feet deep, and 180 miles long. MANY people will die! The “grapes” (the wicked, unbelievers) are cut down and thrown into the winepress where the wrath of God is trampled out. This imagery draws from the Old Testament prophets who used the picture of blood-red juice flowing out of the winepress to describe the bloodshed of war (Isa.63:2-6; Joel 3:13; Rev.19:13,15). This will take place “outside the city” of Jerusalem. In the Old Testament, the remains of a sin offering was disposed of “outside” the camp (Lev.4:12,21; 9:11; 16:27). The Book of Hebrews also tells us that Jesus shed His Blood (was crucified) “outside the city” (Heb.13:11-13). It seems only right that this horrific judgment will be “outside the city” as well. Some scholars have suggested that the devastation of Armageddon represents complete destruction of the entire Earth, while others stand by the theory that it will be only in the ‘Holy Land.’ Whatever the answer, Armageddon will be an unparalleled judgment of God. The boastful pride and arrogance of man (and Satan) will be brought to the lowest by the Almighty and omnipotent power of God. This final and gruesome WAR will probably begin mid-Tribulation, after Antichrist breaks his peace treaty with Israel (Dan.9:27), and will end with the Personal Return of Christ Jesus, the Messiah to Earth (Rev.19:11).

Rev. 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. (KJV) . . . When the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies across without any trouble at all.
The Euphrates River is a natural protective boundary against the empires to the east (Babylon, Assyria, Persia, etc.) It is too deep to ford, and too wide to go around. It is about 1800 miles long, flowing from the mountains to the Persian Gulf. The Euphrates has always been a natural boundary between Israel and the Roman Empire. When the 6th bowl of God’s wrath is emptied, this great river dries up, and is no longer a boundary or barrier; the border between the east and west is gone, opening up the way for the “kings of the east” to march to the battle of Armageddon. If it dried up, nothing could hold back invading armies. The armies from the east symbolize God’s unobstructed judgment. These armies are God’s enemies. The great dragon (Satan) will collect ALL his forces, making one last desperate struggle before all is lost. The majority of the world’s population is in the east, and have or want very little of the TRUE Gospel of Christ. They will choose to back Antichrist, who rides the Great Whore! (Rev.17:1). With hundreds of millions in this army, pouring into Palestine, the blood will be as deep as the horse’s bridles (Rev.9:16; 15:20).

Rev. 16:13-14 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. [14] For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (KJV) . . . John saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. These so-called miracle-working demons caused all the rulers of the world to gather for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God Almighty.
There is always an interlude (break) between the 6th and 7th features of each series of seven (chapter 7, seals; 10-11:14, trumpets). This parenthetical information gives us more details on the upcoming events. These two verses do that too. This is Armageddon (Har-Magedon) by the waters of Meggido (Jud.5:19; Eze.38:8-21; 39:2,4,17; Zech.12:11). It is NOT just a single battle like a lot of people think. This is a full-blown WAR! It probably will be trigered by Russia coming down from the north, in the middle of the Great Tribulation (Eze.38 & 39). It will continue about 3 1/2 years, until the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Rev.19:11).

It is here that we are finally introduced to the ‘unholy trinity’ (trinity from Hell): Satan, Antichrist and the False Prophet. They work together to force the nations of the world to go against Israel. EVERY nation in the world will eventually go up against Israel (Zec.12:2-3). These “unclean spirits” are demonic, sent forth by the unholy trinity to attempt to abolish God from the Earth. Satan hates God with a passion, and hates all that He stands for. He will try to destroy all God’s plans and purposes. But, let us remember that God made a Promise to Abraham and all those who followed him, and God CANNOT lie (Titus 1:2). ALL (everything) that God promised shall be fulfilled! Count on it! There are some churches today that say God is through with Israel. DON’T YOU BELIEVE THIS! That is totally and absolutely WRONG! None of God’s Promises to Israel have ever been abolished or annulled! The Jews are still God’s people, no matter what any so-called church or white supremacist group thinks (Zec.2:8). God loves Israel!

Rev. 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. (KJV) . . . ALL the nations’ armies gathered together to a place called Armageddon in Hebrew. The location where this war will take place is near the city of Meggido, southeast of the modern port of Haifa. It is a strategic location near a prominent international highway leading north from Egypt through Israel, along the coast, and on to Babylon. Meggido overlooked the entire plain southward toward Galilee and westward toward the mountains of Gilboa. “He gathered them together. “WHO is HE?” Is it God Himself! Or is it Satan and his dynamic duo? If it is NOT God, it is God allowing Satan to do it! Sinful people will unite to fight against God in a final display of rebellion. In today’s times, many are already united against Christ and His people. Be bold and persistent in your stand for Christ; as you battle against sin and evil. Don’t give up, for you are fighting on the winning side!

Rev. 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (KJV) . . . . What a disgraceful title for a church! “MYSTERY, BABYLON.” The TRUE church is a “mystery” because she was never revealed in the Old Testament (Eph.3:1-9). This anti-church (apostate, evil) is a “mystery” because it was not revealed until John wrote the Book of Revelation. Babylon is the fountainhead of ALL false religions, that is why she is called “THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS” (plural, not singular). This church will train people up to idolatry and all sorts of wickedness and immorality! This “great whore that sitteth upon many waters” ( Rev.17:1), consists of ALL religions and cults . . . EXCEPT those who believe God and accept His only begotten Son. (1 Joh.5:10-13), meaning the elect or Christians, those chosen of God.
Many say that the Church in Rome is Anti-Christ!

Rev.17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Rev. 19:19-21 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (KJV) . . . Then John saw the beast gathering the kings of the earth and their armies so they could fight against the One sitting on the horse and His army. But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast; the miracles that deceived all those people who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came out of the mouth of the One riding the white horse. And all the fowls of the sky were filled with the dead bodies.
The battle lines have been drawn. The greatest confrontation in the history of the world is about to begin. The beast (Antichrist) and the False Prophet have gathered the rulers and armies of the entire Earth. The enemy armies think they have come of their own free will, but in reality, God has gathered them to battle, that He might defeat them. Their pride and rebellion have clouded their thinking, that they could possibly go up against God Himself. There is no fight really, because the victory was won when Jesus died on the cross for sin and rose from the dead. The evil leaders are immediately captured and sent to their punishment, and the forces of evil are slaughtered. The fiery lake of burning sulfur is the final destination of the wicked. This lake is different from the Abyss (bottomless pit) referred to in Rev. 9:1. The Antichrist and the False Prophet are thrown into this lake of fire (Hell). These persons were not excused because they did what their leaders told them. The plea of millions of sinners on that great Judgment Day will go unheard! GOD HAS GIVEN US HIS WORD AS A WARNING AND A GUIDE. If you choose to follow wrong guides on wrong roads, which MOST people travel; you shall go where the most go, to the burning lake. I distinctly remember several years ago I was bringing a lesson to a class on these very verses. One woman sat across from me in every class. The next week, she was absent (rare). After class I went to see her. These verses had terrified and convicted her. It was only a matter of minutes that she had accepted Christ as her Saviour and Lord. God does work in mysterious ways, for this dear soul passed away very shortly afterwards.

Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, [3] And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. (KJV) . . . Then John saw an angel come down from Heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a big chain in his hand. He grabbed the dragon, that old serpent (the Devil, Satan) and bound him in chains for a thousand years. The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. After the 1000 years he would be released again for a short time.
The “thousand years” (Millennium) is mentioned only in this 20th Chapter, in the Book of Revelation; but it is mentioned 6 times, 2,3,4,5,6, & 7. An angel of God takes hold of the devil, binds him, and casts him into the “bottomless pit.” Please notice: the Bible plainly states, AN angel! One, single, solitary, lone angel controls this ultra powerful enemy of God! The Abyss (bottomless pit) represents the place of the demons and of Satan, the king of demons (Rev. 9:11). When the angel throws Satan in, he shuts him up and seals him in! Satan will no longer be in the world to deceive people — not for 1000 years. The people shall have a time of peace and prosperity, but all the evils of Satan are not over yet.

The final chapter to this whole story is that after Satan is permanently taken out for good, the old earth and old heaven will pass away and a New Heaven and New Earth will now be given to God’s people. Here is a verse that describes what our incredible final ending will be with the Lord.
Rev. 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, (KJV) . . . The Lord Jesus took John, in spirit, to a big, high mountain, and showed him the Holy City, Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God.
The rest of the chapter is a spectacular description of the new City of God, the home of all God’s TRUE children. The vision shows us that our new home with God will defy description. We will not be disappointed by it in any way. The picture changes from a Bride to a City. The City comes down out of Heaven; it does not say it comes to Earth. This verse leaves this great City ‘hanging in mid-air.’ A planet? A satellite? It does not say! Does it really matter???

God the Father will also dwell with us in this New Heaven and New Earth along with His Son Jesus! There will be no more death, pain, and sorrow.
We will no longer have need of a Jewish Temple because God and Jesus will now be the Temple of God Themselves. We will now be able to worship Them directly.

Summary

What about the Rapture? There is a great argument in the churches today about the Rapture. If there is going to be a Rapture (which some doubt), when will it take place? (a). Before the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation? (b). Mid-Tribulation, the 3 ½ year mark when Antichrist sits in God’s Temple and states that HE is God and starts the mass persecution of Jews? (c). Just before the Armageddon war?
Personally, I absolutely believe that there shall be a Rapture of God’s saints . . . and that it will happen BEFORE the start of the 7-year Great Tribulation. I believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture. My reason: God loves His children far too much to let them go through any of the horror of the Tribulation.
Rev. 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (KJV)
1 Thes.1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. (KJV)
1 Thes. 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, (KJV)

Where is the stand of the USA in all of this? Those who study Bible Prophecy have a hard time finding an answer. I do not know the answer. But I do know what God tells us in His Holy Word!
Zec.12:2-3 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto ALL THE PEOPLE round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. 3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for ALL PEOPLE: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though ALL THE PEOPLE of the earth be gathered together against it. (KJV) . . . Emphasis mine. Notice: ALL THE PEOPLE!
Zec. 14:2 For I will gather ALL NATIONS against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (KJV) . . . Emphasis mine. At the end, ALL nations shall go against Israel and GOD! That includes the USA!

Our country has been truly founded on the basics of TRUE Christianity. Once all of the TRUE Christians have been taken up to Heaven in the Rapture, I believe that this country shall literally fall apart overnight, because God’s omnipotent Hand will no longer be in control of things. His Spirit shall be removed, for the Spirit of Christ is IN all TRUE believers.
2 Thes. 2:6-7 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (KJV) . . . It is my humble opinion that when the Rapture takes place, and all TRUE believers are removed, the Holy Spirit is also removed to a great extent! The Holy Spirit abides and resides in all TRUE children of God (saints, Christians). From the time they are baptized with the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13), until they die a physical death, the Holy Spirit is with the TRUE believer in their life on Earth, and forever! (Jn.14:16,26; Rom.5:5; 8:9-11,15-16; 1 Cor.3:16; 6:19; 2 Jn.1:2). When the Holy Spirit no longer restrains, all EVILS shall break loose!

Why will God allow such bloodshed and persecution to come on His own chosen people, the Jewish people?

Eze. 39:23-24 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword. 24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them. (KJV) . . . This Scripture specifically tells us WHY God has allowed so much persecution to fall upon these people throughout the ages.

The Jews have already gone through horrible persecution, but more is to come.
(1). After they are dispersed out of Rome in 70 AD. (2). The Nazi Holocaust where 6 million Jews were killed by Hitler. (3). And what lies ahead will be worse: they shall have two thirds of their population killed in the Coming Antichrist Holocaust.

God also tells us in His Holy Word that the Jewish people will go into extreme mourning when they see Jesus come back at His Second Coming. Zec.12:10-11 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. 11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. (KJV) . . . They will SEE the nail scars in His Hands and His Feet and will realize that Jesus WAS and IS their TRUE Messiah, and that they were the ones who rejected Him and His Gospel of eternal salvation. But because of God’s incredible love, kindness and mercy for these people, He will welcome them with open arms, and they will continue to be His chosen people. Once the Great Tribulation fully ends, Israel will never again be uprooted or suffer any more persecution from anyone ever again.

Dear one, the Jewish people serve as a proof to us all concerning the penalties of forsaking Jesus (Yeshua) and disobedience against God the Father. There are NO middle roads, NO neutral grounds as to WHO you should serve in this life. You either choose God and Jesus and live the way THEY want you to live, and live eternally in Heaven OR you choose YOUR way . . . which is the ways of this world (or the devil) and die an eternal death in Hell!

Our Creator God will NEVER force Himself on you . . . NOR will He ever force you to make you choose Him and His ways of living in this life. He simply makes sure that the knowledge is given to each and every person, but it is up to each person to make their own choice. Dear one, God can be seen in ALL nature around us! And, the Bible, the Holy Word of God is available to whosoever! PLEASE consider ETERNITY!!!

CONSIDER: Maximum life in the New Heaven and New Earth or maximum death in the Lake of Fire and Brimstone.

There are no middle or neutral grounds! It’s all or nothing. You are either WITH Jesus OR you are AGAINST Jesus! This is the cold hard truth of what the life is all about . . . and the sad thing is that the vast majority of people shall make the wrong choice on the most important decision they will ever make in this life . . . and not even God Himself will interfere with a person’s individual choice on this matter because He has given us all a free will. It is my opinion that God chooses (elects, predestines) everyone . . . BUT . . . each person has a free will and can choose whatsoever they desire. Will you go on the narrow path of light with Jesus? Or will you go on the dark, broad road of destruction with the devil? BEWARE!!
