MODERN BIBLE DISTORTIONS

Any words in red, bold italics in the following articles are Jesus’ words, in the KJV of the Bible, which I consider to be the TRUE Bible. For those people who are familiar only with the newer, easier to read bibles, please take caution. These newer versions may be "easier to understand" but, you most likely are "understanding" something that may NOT true. This is the humble opinion of this servant of the Lord.

THE SEAL OF GOD

God’s seal is placed on the foreheads of His servants. This seal is the quite different from the mark of the beast explained in Rev.13:16. These two marks place the people in two distinct categories or groups — those owned by God and those owned by Satan.

HOW BELIEVERS ARE SEALED IN TODAY’S TIME

2 Cor. 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (KJV)

NKJV = who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a deposit. NIV = set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. NLT = and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment of everything he will give us. TEV = who has placed his mark of ownership upon us, and who has given us the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the guarantee of all that he has in store for us. GW = In addition, he has put his seal {of ownership} on us and has given us the Spirit as his guarantee. NASB = who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. ASV = who also sealed us, and gave us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. Dar = who also has sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. YLT = who also sealed us, and gave the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. NAU = who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. Msg = By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete. CEV = and put his Spirit in our hearts to show that we belong only to him. NWT = He has also put his seal upon us and has given us the token of what is to come, that is, the spirit, in our hearts (distorted: the earnest, down payment, deposit, of the Holy Spirit is within believers NOW, NOT what is to come.)

Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (KJV)

NKJV = ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, NIV = you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit; NLT = he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. TEV = God put his stamp of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit he had promised. GW = you were sealed with the Holy Spirit whom he promised. NASB = you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, ASV = ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, Dar = ye have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, YLT = ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise, NAU = you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, Msg = verse distorted, CEV = were given the promised Holy Spirit to show that you belong to God. NWT = you were sealed with promised holy spirit.

HOW BELIEVERS WILL BE SEALED IN THE GREAT TRIBULATION PERIOD

Rev. 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. (KJV)

NKJV = till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads. NIV = until we have put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God. NLT = until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants." TEV = until we mark the servants of our God with a seal on their foreheads." GW = until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." NASB = until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads." ASV = till we shall have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads. Dar = until we shall have sealed the bondmen of our God upon their foreheads. YLT = till we may seal the servants of our God upon their foreheads.' NAU = until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads." Msg = until I've sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads!" CEV = Wait until I have marked the foreheads of the servants of our God. NWT = until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads.

Rev. 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. (KJV)

NKJV = the seal of God; NIV = the seal of God; NLT = the seal of God; TEV = the mark of God's seal; GW = the seal of God; NASB = the seal of God; ASV = the seal of God; Dar = the seal of God; YLT = the seal of God; NAU = the seal of God; Msg = the seal of God; CEV = God’s mark. NWT = seal of God.
