Things About Jesus’ Return You Might Not Know
#1. About one out of 30 Scripture Verses in God’s Holy Word tells us something about Jesus' Return to the Earth.
#2. In the New Testament, there are over 300 places that refer to the Return of Christ.
#3. 23 of the 27 New Testament books mention Christ Jesus' Return.
#4. Well known, Godly men in the Major Prophets of the Old Testament: Moses, David, Job, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Daniel, mention Christ's return in their writings . . . as well as most of the Minor Prophets.
#5. Jesus Himself often spoke in detail about His Return to Earth.
#6. Down through the centuries, Christ's apostles, disciples and followers firmly believed, wrote and taught that Jesus would one day Return to Earth.
#7. The Bible absolutely teaches it. The Lord Jesus stood firmly upon its Truths. The apostles boldly declared it and wrote about it. Their statements of belief included and confirmed it.
His Return has been considered a very important issue down through the centuries . . . BUT . . . ONLY to TRUE Christians. The sad thing today is that many who ‘say’ they are Christians . . . they profess to be Christians, but they do NOT possess Christ in their heart . . . they either totally ignore His Return or are maybe are confused by it. Very sad indeed, because His Return is a marvelous Truth.
But today, before He Returns, He has achieved a more excellent ministry (Heb.8:6), for He is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been ordained on better Promises. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (KJV) Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (KJV) Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (KJV) Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (KJV)
John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. (KJV) . . . Jesus prayed for His apostles and His disciples . . . then and NOW. These are the object of His prayer, then and NOW. He prayed for them because He cared for them, He was concerned for them, and He loved them. He loves us as well. Please do not ever forget that. He prayed to God the Father . . . NOT to any other . . . for there is NOT anyone who is superior to Jesus. PRAYER TO ANY OTHER THAN GOD IS IDOLATRY! We today can pray to God the Father, in Jesus’ Name, or we can pray directly to Christ Jesus, the Son because Jesus IS God! http://www.hisservants.org/is_jesus_god_h_s.htm
I pray not for the world . . . Jesus does NOT pray for the carnal unbelievers of the world, that part of the world lies in sin and shall be condemned (Jn.3:18,36; 1 Cor.11:32; Heb.11:7). He did NOT die for them, so He did not pray for them. The Holy Spirit works hard so He can to make unbelievers see the Truth, trying to get them to choose the right road. But when they reject Jesus time after time and keep on in their sin and ungodliness, He will finally back away and leave them to their doom. 1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. (KJV) . . . God’s Spirit will NOT always strive with man (Gen.6:3). Because of God’s love for mankind, He “strives” a long time, but after so long, He will QUIT trying. BEWARE!!! You do NOT want to be condemned to Hell. Wouldn’t you much rather have Jesus pray for you?
But for them which thou hast given me . . . Jesus prayed for the apostles, for whom He is the Propitiation (Reconciler), He is an Advocate; and for whom He died. He makes intercession for them in a spiritual saving way . . . saving them with an everlasting (eternal) salvation by Him . . . and to be preserved safely to His Kingdom and glory.
For they are thine . . . not just by Creation, and as under the care of His providence, but by eternal election, being called by His unique grace, which is a reason why Christ prayed for them, and a reason why the Father would consider His prayers.
Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (KJV)
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (KJV)
Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (KJV)
Be wise!!! Choose Jesus and stand firm in your profession of Him!
