Annihilation vs. Eternal Conscious Torment

ANNIHILATION advocates teach that the unsaved will be annihilated, either immediately after death or after experiencing a limited time of punishment . . . Where?? How long?? Annihilation after death is very easy to rule out because it directly contradicts Jesus' teaching that there will be degrees of punishment, because immediate annihilation does not allow for any difference in destiny. Luke 12:47-48 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. ALL mortal bodies will become immortal (eternal) at the resurrection. Biblical bodily resurrection is a powerful argument against annihilation. If ALL men, both good and WICKED put on immortality at the resurrection, HOW could they possibly cease to exist? Ceasing to exist is NOT immortality! Immorality is living FOR EVER in one of two places: Heaven OR Hell! Heaven is eternal bliss, Hell is eternal agony!
Immortality is to NEVER die again . . . whether it be in Heaven or Hell. Man's body is not immortal now, but will one day be made so. ALL men, whether good or wicked shall one day be immortal!

The wicked will not be resurrected until the Millennium reign of Christ is finished. When this happens, and it shall happen . . . they will go directly to the Great White Throne Judgment.

Being mortal refers to our BODY . . . NOT our soul. Physical death is separation of the mortal body from the eternal soul and spirit.

After the resurrection, an immortal spiritual body is then given to all.

While we live here on Earth, we are a spirit with a physical body. The wicked dead in Hades, are a spirit without a physical body. AFTER the resurrection, the wicked will be a spirit with a spirit body awaiting judgment at the Great White Throne.
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. After the resurrection, believers in Christ will be a spirit with a spirit body, just like Jesus! Thank You, Jesus!

Universalism

The damnable heresy of UNIVERSALISM teaches that all people will be saved. Some say that it is through the atonement of Jesus that ALL will ultimately be reconciled to God. Others say that ALL will go to Heaven one day, whether or not they have trusted in Jesus to save them OR even if they rejected Jesus as Saviour during their lifetime. This does NOT make any sense to me! This is NOT what the BIBLE teaches! False Teachers teach this damnable heresy that universal redemption will be realized in the future where God will bring all people to repentance. Universalists believe this repentance can happen while a person lives OR after he has died and lived again in the millennium (as some "Christian universalists" claim). Some Universalists even teach that Satan and all demons will one day be reconciled to God. This is an absolute FALSEHOOD to anyone who knows the Bible!
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (KJV) . . . Antichrist and the False Prophet are cast alive into HELL! Universalist beliefs are in serious ERROR. People SHALL suffer eternal damnation. Rev.14:11-12 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Some Universalists (claim to be Christian), BUT . . . they deny the doctrine of the Trinity and they deny the incarnation of the Word as God the Son. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV) . . . He was still God, but He took on our nature in His Person, because then and only then could He redeem, quicken, enable and change us with His Work on the cross. Universalists also deny the Person and deity of the Holy Spirit. Usually, these denials are held by Unitarian Universalists, though others who are not of this bunch also deny the Trinity. Those who deny these necessary doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ CANNOT be Christians according to Almighty God. A person MUST believe God!

If a person denies the deity of Christ, they deny one of the most basic, essential doctrines of salvation. In this sense, those Universalists who deny the deity of Christ are in a false religious belief system, a cult. When one essential doctrine is denied, many other Biblical doctrines are also denied and salvation is null and void because the object of their faith is false.

There is a denomination known as Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). The UUA can be classified as non-Christian because it denies the deity of Christ, the Person of the Holy Spirit, etc. It is not possible to categorize all Universalists into one category. Its supporters vary in their beliefs. Some are Arian (God is one person, Jesus is a creation). Some are Trinitarian. Others even lean toward New Age concepts of man's divinity. Universalism is not really a doctrine that identifies a group. Rather, it is a doctrine of different, contradictory groups, who all claim universalism.

In Universalism, the word "eternal" means "without end" when it comes to salvation, but NOT when referring to damnation, even though the same word is used for both and in the same context in the Bible.
