Welcome to our website

“Marvelous Works and Wonders”

Hab. 1:5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. (KJV)

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously . . . the Lord now answers Habakkuk, and tells him what to say to the Jews, guilty of the vile crimes.
God, in reply to the prophet's cries, speaks of the Jews as about to be punished. He is saying: "Learn from them what ye refused to learn from Me! You will not believe, even though I foretell it." He says, "Consider the judgments, and the punishments that have been executed upon the heathen, for the same sins that YOU commit."
"Regard" means to weigh it well and consider the consequence, for it is a warning to them, assuring them that judgment SHALL overtake them just as it did the nations (Gentiles, heathens). "Wonder marvellously" means they shall be astonished at the coming judgments, far too great to be put in words, and so strange that it will seem hard to believe.
For I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you . . . the great and glorious omnipotent God is the just and supreme Judge, and He will work a work . . . from start to finish work. It will be a work that God shall work, a work of both severity and justice (Eze.7:5). They will not believe; the wicked and violent oppressors will not believe . . . even though the Lord by His prophets did foretell it.

Consider this:

  • The LORD shall scatter you among the nations (Deut.4:27).
  • He shall punish them (Jer.9:25-26; 25:14-29).
  • The wisdom of their wise shall perish, their prudent men hid (Isa.29:14).
  • His work will be hard to believe (Lam.4:12).
  • Nothing like this had ever been done upon Jerusalem (Dan.9:12).
  • It was spoken of in the prophets (Acts 13:40),
  • But hard to believe (Acts 13:41).
  • The Lord shall, rise up in fiery wrath, that He may do His strange work (Isa.28:21-22).
  • They would not believe it was the Lord (Jer.5:12-13).
  • They refused to listen to the prophets (Jer.18:18).
  • Every Word that the Lord speaks, shall come to pass, though they believe it not (Eze.12:22-28).
  • God will consume all things off the land (Zep.1:2).

God challenges Habakkuk to just open his eyes and look around him, to SEE what He is doing.
One disaster after another has taken place. The great Assyrian Empire in the north has been conquered; Nineveh, its capital, has been utterly destroyed. On the Euphrates River, a kingdom arises which already has won a victory over Egypt at Carchemish. Nebuchadnezzar has risen, bringing Babylon in as a world power.
God is telling Habakkuk, "Look at all the nations, do you think that I am not doing anything? I have been watching all the sin that goes on, and I am doing something!" God's eye watches what goes on: (Eze.5:11; 7:4,9; 8:18; 9:10). Do you think that God does not watch what goes on today? He IS watching and He is NOT pleased at what He sees!
Today people ask, "Why doesn't God do something about sin?" In Habakkuk's day God was moving. In spite of all the lawlessness, the war and the sin in all the nations, God WAS ruling and moving in judgment. God is still in complete control today! And one day, very soon I think, God is going to lower the boom on this country. He has been warning us, and the world, of their horrid sin, with many natural disasters. People refuse to believe it is God working. It's just "Mother Nature." How stupid can people be?

Before the mustard seed Kingdom, vast numbers will come to know these Bible truths in what God, through the prophet Habakkuk, calls a “marvelous Work.”
Hab. 1:5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. (KJV)
In the Scriptures, a “Work” represents God’s servants’ teaching and warning all who will listen. Do YOU believe the prophecies in the Bible? They stand in advance of this Work!
Wonderful Isaiah forcefully repeats and emphasizes what Habakkuk foretold:
Isaiah 29:4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust. (KJV)

Israel shalt be brought down . . . to the ground, and laid level with it, even the city of Jerusalem, as it was by the Romans; and as it was predicted by Christ that it would, (Lk.19:44), although some think this was only of the humbling of the inhabitants of it, by the appearance of Sennacherib's army.
And shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust . . .
some explain this of the submissive language of Hezekiah to Sennacherib, and of his messengers to Rabshakeh (2 Ki.18:14, 26) . . . but it seems it could well express the great famine in Jerusalem, at the time of its siege by the Romans, when the inhabitants were so reduced by it, that they were scarcely able to speak as to be heard, and could not stand but fell to the ground and lay in the dust, speaking with a faint and feeble voice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabshakeh

A familiar spirit is witchcraft (Lev.19:31; 20:6, 27), and is condemned by Almighty God! Jerusalem would be as a captive, humbled to the dust. Her voice shall come from the Earth as that of necromancers (Isa.8:19; Deut.18:9-12), weak and piercing, as the voice of the dead was thought to be. Ventriloquism was no doubt the trick caused to make the voice appear to come from the Earth (Isa.19:3). Because Jerusalem consulted necromancers, and because it was condemned (Isa.8:19; Mal.3:5), they would receive the same condemnation that the wicked ones would. People today think nothing of consulting a person with a familiar spirit (evil spirit). This is also a dire warning to any of these, because in the Eyes of our Almighty God, it is absolutely a SIN!

Isaiah 29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. (KJV)

Because of their hypocrisy and traditionalism, their regard to men, their doctrines and commandments (Mat.15:9; Mk.7:7), was NOT to the Will and Word of God, therefore the Lord determines to deal in a spectacular way with this people.
Even a marvellous work, and a wonder . . . meaning something exceedingly marvelous (Hab.1:5), above, which would be a matter of astonishment to everyone that observed it; and is as follows:
For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid . . . wisdom shall disappear and vanish, answers too shall perish. A veil shall be cast upon the eyes of their minds; there shall be no evidence or proof of their wisdom . . . only their folly (stupidity) shall be made clear. And this was indeed a marvellous work, and a wonder for their wise men to be made fools. This was indeed fulfilled in the wise men, the doctors and learned Rabbis of the Jews; and they themselves say that, from the time the Temple was destroyed, the wise men became like Scribes, and the Scribes to those that looked after the synagogues, and these became like the common people (1 Cor.1:18-19). The marvellous work is one of unparalleled vengeance on the hypocrites: compared to strange work (Isa.28:21).  The judgment too, will visit the wise in that respect in which they most pride themselves; their wisdom shall be hid, meaning it shall no longer appear to help the nation in its distress.

Isaiah 29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? (KJV)
Woe unto them . . . or, O ye,
That seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord . . . seek deep is a symbol from men, who dig deep into the Earth, that they may hide something there. To hide . . . it is utterly vain to think that they can deceive not only men, but Almighty God, by their external professions. A person can SAY that they are a “Christian” . . . BUT if they do NOT possess Christ in their heart . . . they LIE! God KNOWS if you are His TRUE child or not! http://www.godcannotlie.org/true_children_of_god.htm
During the time of Christ on Earth, the Jews consulted against Christ, to kill Him (Jn.7:1, 19, 25; 5:16-18). http://hisservants.org/israel_did_she_kill_jesus_h_s.htm
They persecuted Him and His apostles, they hindered the spread of His Gospel; which even though they consulted Him in private, they formed deep plans against Him, but what they never thought (or think of) is that Almighty God sits in Heaven and sees them, and laughs at their vain imaginations (Ps.2:1-5).
And their works are in the dark . . . why do the wicked ones do most of their dirty work at night . . . as if the darkness could hide them from the all-seeing eye of God. Such works are truly works of darkness, but they CANNOT be hid from God, even though they flatter themselves they will. Dear one, God sees all and knows all! You cannot hide anything from Him! http://hisservants.org/is_jesus_god_h_s.htm
http://www.lastdaysprophecy.org/ld_judgments_of_god.htm
And they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? . . . people try many things to try to hide their wickedness . . . who can see them? Who knows who it is? They think neither God nor man can discover them . . . they are WRONG! Wicked people sink so deep in atheism when trying to please themselves, they think they cannot fail.
*****Some say that things are so serious for Isaiah’s people that He puts in another woe here. This chapter contains two woes because #1. the people act as if God does not see or know, and #2. they act as if they are getting by with their evil.

The apostle Paul also quoted Habakkuk in the book of Acts, changing it a little:
Acts 13:40-41 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; 41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you. (KJV)

This seems to mean that we should expect a massive, Earth-rattling Work to precede the Kingdom of God . . . one so extensive that it staggers the mind . . . one that cannot be fully comprehended until it is seen . . . one that when you hear of it, most will not believe it!

An Obvious and Unique Picture

Christ first comes to His people, which is His Temple (1 Cor.3:16-17; 6:19-20). The Kingdom of Israel is initially led by a little flock under Christ. He will at first hide His Presence by being sprout-like, like the parable of the mustard seed (Mat.13:31). The Kingdom will grow in number before Christ transfers a ready-to-be greatly expanded World Government to Jerusalem. From there He shall rule ALL nations with a larger group of saints coming from His by then much larger flock.

The simple TRUTHS in Jesus’ parables, may make you wonder why you have never been taught their meaning, and recognize that He designed the parables to confuse those He was not calling.
Mat. 13:10-17 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. (KJV)

Dear ones, the vast majority close their eyes to the TRUTH of the Bible. Parables keep them from understanding what they do NOT want to hear.
But YOU can understand! Speaking more of the reason for parables, Matthew added: Mat. 13:34-35 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: 35  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. (KJV)

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet saying . . . not Isaiah, as some think, but Asaph, who is called Asaph the seer (2 Chron.29:30), which is the same as a prophet, for vision is one kind of prophecy.
I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world . . . Psalm 78:2-3 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: [3] Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. (KJV) . . . The words of Asaph.  That it might be fulfilled . . .Christ taught, as did that prophet, Asaph . . . in parables. These words of Asaph described the manner in which Christ taught, and in this sense it could be said that they were fulfilled. "I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world" . . . the things He is revealing now, in parables, had never been revealed like this in the Old Testament.

Have YOU received precious knowledge . . . kept secret from the world. It is not the popular traditions of modern-day Christendom, but Jesus’ plain words . . . now understood in our time. God has been waiting for thousands of years to establish His Kingdom on an Earth that so badly needs it. Yet I am certain that it will NOT come as millions expect it to come. You have heard word about the Kingdom BEFORE it comes. There is great advantage in this! I think that Jesus today, has in mind those who will be His specially chosen team of well-qualified leaders BEFORE His Arrival, to rule under Him.
Two thousand years ago, Christ Jesus built  His  Church . . . the TRUE Church. This Church believes and teaches the TRUTHS of the Bible . . . ALL the Truths, NEVER commandments of men (Mat.15:9). The people of this Church have always stood firm and fast in what God promises . . . not on the false hope of human creations.
