Prophetic Signs in Todays Times!
Are We in the Last Days?
There are so many different kinds of ‘signs’ around us that should tell us something about the times in which we live. Can they really be connected to what God has told us in His Holy Word? Do these ‘signs’ really point to the approaching end of the age?
#1. Physical Signs
These signs refer to what shall happen in the corporal Universe. Jesus’ disciples asked, Him:
Mat. 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (KJV)
Christ Jesus answer was:
Mat. 24:6-7 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (KJV)
There have always been famines. Some of the worst famines in history have taken place in the Twentieth Century. Twenty million people starved to death in Russia during the years that followed World War II. There are some countries in Asia and Africa where the Sahara is proceeding southward that have an actual drought of food. Food is a major concern in about 90% of the nations of Earth. The Earth’s population is increasing so fast that scientists fear a mass starvation shall come.
Pestilences and pandemics are on the increase . . . consider the recent Covid epidemic!
My grandfather was a truck farmer. He (we) never sprayed the acres of beans, corn, potatoes and tomatoes, nor his apple, cherry and peach trees. There simply were NO massive pestilences like there are today. Farmers in today’s world spray for one pest . . . up comes another bug to take its place. Our Lord Jesus looked down through the centuries and saw these things.
Jesus also said that earthquakes will be multiplied and intensified as we approach the last days. Some say that there was an average of 10 earthquakes each year when Christ was here. That number was supposedly increased to 500 each year during the Seventeenth Century. Now, earthquakes are common all over the world. Jesus also saw that as well!
Today the Geodesic Survey says there must be at least one billion earthquakes each year. To me, this would mean that the Earth is constantly shaking. The instruments scientists use to record earth tremors are called seismographs. The seismograph is a device that has a scale ranging from zero to ten and is used to measure the intensity of an earthquake. The 1965 earthquake in Alaska was the most severe quake ever recorded. It measured 8.6 on a scale that only goes up to 10. There have always been earthquakes, but there has been an outstanding increase not only in number but also in intensity. These earthquakes are another sign that we are approaching the last days.
#2. National Signs
There are many signs among the nations that point to the soon Coming of our Lord. One of the main and the number one national sign is that that nations are getting ready to march on Israel. Ezekiel Chapter 38 tells about a military invasion of the land of Israel by a great army which comes from the north.
Eze. 38:7-9 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. 8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. 9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. (KJV)
When Israel is back in the land, they will be under the control of the Antichrist, who will make them believe that peace has come to the Earth (Dan.9:26-27), and that all of the problems of the Earth are settled and they are entering the Millennium. But this would not be true, and they will find in the midst of the Tribulation Period that out of the north will come their enemy, Russia. Millennium; general Scriptures about: (Isa.65:17-25; Zep.3:11-13; Zec.9:9-10; 14:16-21; Mat,16:18-19; 26:29; Mk.14:25; Heb.8:11; Rev.14:6; 20:1-15).
Thou shall ascend and come like a storm . . . a storm, black and terrible that suddenly comes, causing darkness and fear; making much noise, and threatening danger; indicating that the Turks will come into the land of Judea suddenly to surprise it, with great wrath and fury, and threatening them with utter destruction. So, the king of the north is said to come (Dan.11:40).
Thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land . . . to cover the land, Gog and his bands shall be a storm that overspreads the whole land with darkness and distress; indicating the vast number of his army, which would overspread the land of Judea.
Thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee . . . all thy bands, troops. His own army would be very large, but would be greatly increased by his confederates, those voluntarily joining him in this mission. Many people . . . many in number, great in courage and strength.
Eze. 38:15-16 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: 16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. (KJV)
The Bible says in Eze.38:8, “In the latter years, thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel.” It states the same thing in Ezekiel 38:15-16 above. The country north of Palestine will come upon the land of Israel in the last days and carry away plunder. Russia’s attempt to control the Middle East is a sure sign that this prophecy is getting closer and closer to being fulfilled in our day.
Isa. 13:10-11 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. 11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. (KJV)
Luke 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (KJV)
Another sign that is related to the nations is that world leaders shall be distressed and perplexed. Jesus said that as we approach the Time of His coming again, nations shall be overwhelmed with problems for which they can see no way out. There shall be a meager ‘few’ that will have any hope . . . most of them have NO idea what to do and NONE of them are optimistic.
Today’s world is seething and boiling with confusion and misunderstanding. Racial tensions, bitterness, unrest, disorderly demonstrations, and an ever increasing cruel brutality in warfare on the streets send shudders through the hearts of men and women all over the world. It matters not where we go . . . there is violent disturbance and unrest with NO government to control it as it should be controlled! Jesus was right! Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (KJV)
#3. Jewish Signs
When God called Abraham all those many years ago, He told him that He would raise up a great nation from his offspring . . . and God promised the land of Palestine to be their inheritance. God later told the whole nation of Israel that IF they obeyed Him, He would bless them in their land; BUT . . . IF they disobeyed God, He would bring chastening and expel them from the land. See: Deuteronomy 28:1-6, 15, 63-64.
We all know what happened to Israel. Israel disobeyed God, and as a result the people were carried captive into foreign nations. Century after century, the Israelites were scattered from one end of the Earth to the other . . . scattered among the nations, just as God had said they would be. But . . . the Bible not only predicted that Israel would be scattered; it also predicts that Israel will be regathered again into her ancient homeland.
Deut. 30:1-5 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, 2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; 3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. 4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: 5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. (KJV)
For 2500 years, the Jews were without a king and were scattered among the nations . . . but they never lost their uniqueness, and on May 14, 1948, Israel became a nation again. That is indeed was a miracle.
Where are the Hittites and the Hivites and the Jebusites and the Girgashites? These too were prosperous nations in the Middle East too. How many of any of these have you seen lately?
All these and some other former kingdoms have been absorbed by the nations of the world and have lost their identity . . . but not so with the Jews! Doubters and unbelievers said the Jews would never return again to Palestine. They said it would be impossible to weld together into one nation a people estranged from each other for so many centuries, and who spoke so many different languages . . . BUT . . . today Israel is officially re-established in her ancient homeland.
The return of the Jews to Palestine, and the rebuilding of the nation of Israel has happened EXACTLY as it was prophesied in the Bible to happen. This FACT should be enough to convince any unbeliever of the power of God and of the TRUTH of the Bible.
#4. Moral Signs
Gen.6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (KJV)
Luke 17:26-30 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (KJV)
And as it was in the days of Noe . . . this is speaking about while Noah was building the ark, before he went into it; the days of Noah before the Flood, NOT after it; for he lived after the flood 350 years (Gen.9:28).
So shall it be also in the days of the Son of man . . . Jesus means the time just before His Second Coming will be just like before the Flood.
We are living in an extremely wicked time, marry, divorce, marry, divorce. Wacko psychologists and backslidden religious people in churches encouraging divorce. Divorce is a horrible sin. We live in a time of liars, vow-breakers and quitters. The days of Noah was a time of not working-out marriage troubles, instead of God's will “UNTIL DEATH DO US PART.” Just like today.
Sexual immorality is an epidemic across the whole world. Pedophilia is everywhere. A pedophile is characterized by sexual attraction to children. Marriage is no longer sacred. People have sex with multiple other partners and are still married to someone else, they have no conscience about it. Prostitution is everywhere. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 foretold that in the last days people would live only for pleasures, backbiters, high-minded, boasters, disobedient to parents, fierce and lacking any natural feelings. People have become shallow, having no feelings, no happiness, no substance. The workplace is saturated with sexual promiscuousness, sleeping around and open adultery. More and more churches are allowing gay and lesbian clergy. Homosexuality is a sin (Rom.1:24-32).
They did eat, they drank . . . the inhabitants of the old world ate and drank, not merely in a common way, with moderation, but they lived in an extravagant and luxurious manner; they indulged their sensual appetites, and put away the evil day that Noah told them of, far from them.
They married wives, they were given in marriage . . . “they married wives” (not “a wife,” but “wives”). It was a time of sexual immorality. They were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark. It was a time of distressing fornication and dirty-mindedness all day long, “evil continually” (Gen.6:5). They lived for sex, just like today. Marriage was no longer sacred, just like today, it was a continuation of adulterous marriages, whore mongering, quitting one marriage after another, homosexuality, just like today. It was a time that everyone lived for the lusts of the flesh, just like today.
Until the day that Noe entered into the ark . . . the ark that Noah had built by divine direction, to save himself and his family, and all the creatures that were with him, from the waters of the Flood; and this was in the six hundredth year of his life, in the second month, the month of October, and in the seventeenth day of that month (Gen.7:11,13).
And the flood came and destroyed them all . . . all the inhabitants of the Earth, every living thing, men, cattle, creeping things and fowls of the heaven . . . all except Noah, his wife and his three sons and their wives, and all the creatures that were with him in the ark. The Flood did NOT come by itself, or by chance, but came by the power of God, according to His will. God brought it on the world of the ungodly (2 Pet.2:5). It is said that Cain, who is supposed by the Jews to have lived until the flood, that “the flood came, and washed him away.” Only eight people were spared in the days of Noe. (Gen.7:13).
Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; (KJV)
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot . . . Jesus now says that JUST BEFORE His Second Coming, times will be like they were in the days of Lot. So, what were those days like? (Gen.18:26-32). Lot lived in Sodom. Before and at the time of the destruction of that city with other neighboring ones, they did eat, they drank (Lk.17:27; Eze.16:49-50). This is to be understood of the inhabitants of Sodom, and the other cities that perished with it. Gen. 18:32 and he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. (KJV) . . . The days of Lot were extremely wicked, just like today. Abraham begged God to save Sodom. But there were NOT even TEN righteous people living in the combination of all the destroyed cities! Almighty God was totally fed up with the abominable sin of homosexuality in the days of Lot. Only THREE people were spared when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed (Gen.19:30).
They bought, they sold . . . before the utter destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, they traded among themselves, and with their neighbors. It seems that they had no regard to the poor and needy; they had no conscience of defrauding and oppressing them, just like today! NONE of the wicked were looking for what was to come, just like today!
They planted . . . vineyards, and fruit trees; living in a very fruitful soil, like the garden of the LORD (Gen.13:10-11).
They builded . . . houses for themselves and their descendants. The days of Lot were filled with the increase of the earth, they lived in peace, security and tranquility.
Sexual immorality is an epidemic across the world. The lust for sex is everywhere. Pedophilia is everywhere, lusting for sex with a child is increasing. Marriage is no longer sacred. People have sex with multiple others while they are still married to someone else. They have NO conscience about it. Prostitution is everywhere.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (KJV) . . . The apostle Paul foretells that in the last days, people would live only for pleasures, be backbiters, be high-minded, boasters (1 Cor.1:31; 2 Cor.10:17), disobedient to parents, fierce and lacking any natural feelings. People have become shallow, having no feelings, no happiness, no substance. It's all a part of the New Age Movement. The workplace is saturated with sexual promiscuousness, sleeping around and open adultery. More and more churches are embracing the homosexual lifestyle.
Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. (KJV)
But the same day Lot went out of Sodom . . . Lot was literally plucked up and taken away from Sodom by the angels early in the morning (Gen.19:15-16,23). The Jews say it was the sixteenth day of Nisan.
It rained fire and brimstone from heaven . . . (Gen.19:24; Ps.105:32; 2 Pet.2:6). Lot’s condition is totally different than Noah, but there are some things the same. Everyone left outside the ark, panicked! No one in Sodom panicked, selling their property and getting out of town. The stock market did not collapse because Lot said that judgment was coming. They simply did not believe it. God would NOT destroy the city until Lot had been taken out of it. Neither will God bring the Great Tribulation upon this Earth UNTIL He takes His own out of the world at the Rapture (1 Thes.4:13-18). The Great Tribulation immediately precedes the Second Coming of Christ to the Earth. (Zec.14:1-5; Rev.19:11-21). It is interesting that Jesus uses Lot as an example here, which He does not do in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24. WHY? Because in Matthew, Jesus answers their question about His Coming to Earth to establish His Kingdom. Here in Luke, it is a wider subject. Sodom, because of her sin, stood on the brink of destruction, and the moment Lot left town, judgment fell. I believe that the minute all TRUE believers leave this Earth in the Rapture, the Tribulation period will begin (Dan.9:27; Rev.6). Fire and brimstone . . . a shower of neither fire nor brimstone (sulphur) can be accounted for in an ordinary way, so it has to be extraordinary and miraculous. The destruction of this city, along with others, by fire from heaven, are confirmed by the testimonies of Heathen writers.
And destroyed them all . . . all the inhabitants of Sodom, and all of Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim; which was an example of the destruction of Jerusalem, and the land of Judea, (Deut.29:23), and of the burning of the world (2 Pet.3:7,12), and of the perdition of the wicked in Hell (2 Pet.2:6; Jude 7).
Luke 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (KJV)
When Jesus comes to avenge Himself on the Jews; and when He is revealed from Heaven in flaming fire (2 Thes.1:8), at the last day. Just as in the days of Noah and Lot, men lived in great immorality and security, with NO thought or fear of danger, so too, were the Jews before the destruction of their city and Temple, lifting themselves up with deliverance to the last; and such will be the times of laziness before the coming of the day of the Lord to judgment. Just as the destruction of the old world in the Flood, and the men of Sodom and Gomorrah was sudden and unexpected, so was the destruction of Jerusalem, and so too shall be the burning of the world (2 Pet.3:7,12). That day will come, as a thief in the night (Job 24:14; 1 Thes.5:2; 2 Pet.3:10), just as in the above calamities. There shall be a remnant saved, such as Noah and his family in the ark, and as Lot, and his wife and daughters were snatched out of Sodom, when the rest were destroyed. When the Christians left Jerusalem, they went to Pella. Pella was in the lower foothills of eastern slope of the Jordan Valley about eighteen miles south of the Sea of Galilee. It was one of the cities of the Decapolis, which was a ten-city Greco-Roman alliance, occupying all of Bashan and Gilead in northeastern Palestine.

Jesus said that moral conditions on the Earth (just before He returns) would be like the days of Noah. And the days of Noah were days of great wickedness and moral corruption (Gen.6:5).
Moral standards in America have plummeted more in the past 10 years than in a hundred of years before that.
Our day is characterized by drunkenness and loose living. Most people have sold out to amusements, gambling, and sports. There is more immorality, more wanton lasciviousness, more crime, more lying, more adultery, more divorce and more violation of the Lord’s Day than at any other time since the creation of Adam . . . with the only exception being that of the days right before the Flood in Noah’s time.
Literature and all entertainment are filled with blasphemy, illicit crime, lust, nakedness, sex, violence, drinking, filth, obscenity, etc. All this sinfulness makes a ‘good’ person, a TRUE Christian sick with disgust just thinking about it. Homosexuals are demanding “gay rights.” It is quite clear that Sodom lives again in the wickedness of our own society.
#5. Religious Signs
2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (KJV)
There shall be a falling away in a political sense, but more so in the general desertion from allegiance and loyalty to Christ . . . running to false cults that will in the end lead to the great whore of Revelation chapter 17. MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH (verse 5).
The devil will bring in falsehoods of all kinds of evil doctrines, and invent new ones introducing both Judaism and Paganism into the churches (1 Tim.4:1-3). It seems Paul was pointing out some of the Catholic creeds, as forbidding marriage to priests, and ordering abstinence from meats on certain days, and at certain times of the year. This will be one thing that will precede the Coming of Christ.
There must be a falling away first. Many interpreters say that this means the apostasy, the rebellion, and I agree, but I think it means more than that.
Paul says that before the Day of the Lord begins, there FIRST has to be a removing. I think that there are two kinds of removing that are going to take place. The first thing that must happen is that the Christian church will depart from the faith, that is what we call apostasy. BUT I believe there will be TOTAL apostasy when the Lord comes, and that cannot take place until the TRUE church is removed at the Rapture (1 Thes.4:13-18).
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (KJV) . . . When Jesus says faith, He means that body of truth that He left here. The answer to His question is NO! Jesus will NOT find faith here when He returns. There will be total apostasy because of two things: #1. the church has departed from the faith, it has apostatized and #2. there has been another departure, the departure of the TRUE church from the Earth. The leaving of the TRUE church leads to the total apostatizing of the so-called church. The Day of the Lord cannot begin . . . nor can the Great Tribulation period begin . . . until the TRUE church has left the earth.
WHY? . . . because God has promised to take the TRUE church from the Earth BEFORE the Great Tribulation, BEFORE His wrath is poured out on this wicked world in the last judgment (1 Thes.1:10; 5:9; Rev.3:10). What a tremendous Promise! Thank You Jesus!
The so-called organized church which is left down here AFTER the Rapture will TOTALLY depart from the faith. It is prophesied as the great whore in Revelation 17. We see it happening in today’s world! All a person has to do is open their eyes. http://www.hisservants.org/end_times_h_s.htm

1 Tim. 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (KJV)
Now the Spirit . . . clearly the Holy Spirit. It is not certain, from this Passage, whether Paul means to say that this was a revelation then made to him, or whether it was a well-understood thing as taught by the Holy Spirit. He elsewhere refers to this same prophecy, and John also more than once mentions it (2 Thes., 1 Jn.2:18; 4:3).
Speaketh expressly . . . not by mere hints and symbols, and shadowy images of the future. The object of this statement seems to be to get Timothy’s attention to show the importance of attending to it.
That in the latter times . . . latter times is an expression referring to the last days of the church on the Earth. The apostasy of the church had already begun, even at that time. John said, "Already there are many antichrists" (1 Jn.2:18).
I think most likely Paul means by latter times mentioned here refers to our times today. Paul was speaking of what was in store for the church in his day and what would follow.
Some shall depart from the faith . . . Paul is warning Timothy and us, that there will be heretical teachers who will mislead many people. There will be a departure from the faith. Paul wrote also in 2 Thes.2, of the apostasy to come. This problem of apostasy has been in the church for a l-o-n-g time, and it certainly will NOT be anything new at the end of the age. My friend, it will continue to grow. When TRUE believers are raptured (1 Thes.4:13-18), what will be left behind will be a completely apostate organized church (Rev.17).
2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (KJV)
2 Thes.2:8-10 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (KJV) . . . BEWARE!!!
Giving heed to seducing spirits . . . evil spirits INSTEAD of the Spirit of God. The spirits here referred to are any that cause people to stray from the Truth. Although it applies to false teachers, it also applies to them under the influence of evil spirits, which includes drugs and alcohol. This may be applied to any false teaching; but it is evident that the apostle had a specific apostasy in view . . . some great system that would greatly corrupt the Christian faith (Rev.17), and the words here should be interpreted with that in mind. It is true that people in all ages are prone to give heed to seducing spirits; but the thing referred to here by Paul is some outstanding apostasy, in which the characteristics would be manifested, and the doctrines held, which Paul proceeds immediately to specify. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (KJV) . . . Giving heed to seducing spirits . . . when they depart from the faith, what is responsible for it? Paul says, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits. Seducing means wandering, roving, never satisfied. It comes from the word vagabond, deceiver or seducer. Satan is all those things. People shall give heed to satanic spirits.
And doctrines of devils . . . teachings of demons. This may either mean teachings respecting demons, or teachings by demons. People will give heed to doctrines of demons. Anyone who is not a child of God . . . is a child of the devil (1 John 3:10), and the devil has many more children that God has (Mat.7:12-14). BEWARE of WHAT and WHO you listen to!!!
It is shocking indeed to the vast number of people in our money-oriented world, that there is such a quick return to the things of the spirit world. TRUE believers are to ". . . try the spirits whether they are of God . . . " because there have gone out into the world these seducing spirits: 1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (KJV)
The TEST that we should consider and apply is the creed that was given in:
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (KJV)
The ONLY Way of salvation is through the Death of Christ on the Cross, and it is ONLY by this TRUTH that we can test the doctrines of demons today.
There are some who CLAIM to be believers who place a great importance on demonism. They are very interested in this subject and are reading everything they can find about it. Faith in Christ Jesus and demonism are total opposites. BEWARE!!! Do NOT mess with the devil! The end result is NOT what you want, for YOU shall end up where the devil does, and that is HELL!
Paul warns us against being seduced by the doctrines of demons. PAY ATTENTION! We should stay away, far away, from the doctrines of demons, testing each spirit by its acknowledgment of the deity of Christ and by its acknowledging that God was manifest in the flesh and that we are justified only through the redemption He made possible for us on the Cross. JESUS IS GOD! http://www.godcannotlie.org/is_jesus_god.htm
1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; (KJV)
Speaking lies in hypocrisy . . . apostates act like they are very pious, very religious. BEWARE of these super-duper so-called saints who claim to have something special that we do not have. My friend, IF you know the Truth, it makes you humble. The first thing you will realize is just how little you know. No matter how much you think you know about the Bible, you have so much more to learn. Speaking lies in hypocrisy is pretending to be something they are not.
Their conscience has been seared with a hot iron . . . this no doubt refers to the effect of applying a hot iron to the skin. The burned part becomes rigid and hard, and is dead to feeling. So too is the conscience of those referred to here. A conscience such as this exists in a mind that will practice falsehoods with NO concern. I think Paul means that persons like this are so far away from any sense of godliness, that they were hardened to a great degree of iniquity. Both terms in this verse indicate people who seduce others to false doctrine, and they could not do it without some show or pretense of piety. BEWARE!!!
1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (KJV)
Forbidding to marry . . . in Christ's day there was a group known as the Essenes. The Essenes were a Jewish mystical sect a little like the Pharisees. They exaggerated great purity. They originated about B.C. 100, and disappeared from history after the destruction of Jerusalem. They are not directly mentioned in Scripture, although they may be referred to in (Mat.19:11-12; Col.2:8,18,23). It was from among them that the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. When Christianity came along, many most likely joined the Palestinian church and helped to produce most of its characteristic heresies, including the regulation of not marrying. The Catholic Church forbids marriage to its priests. As you know, that has produced some horrible sexual monsters. God does NOT forbid marriage to pastors. Essenes: http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/5867-essenes
And commanding to abstain from meats . . . this also they taught in hypocrisy, under a pretense of piety. This too agrees with the Church of Rome whose prohibitions of meat are well known. To abstain: (Rom.14:3,17; 1 Cor.8:8; Col.2:20-23; Heb.13:9).
Which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving . . . there are those who make certain rules and regulations about diet that are absolutely NOT in the Word of God. They falsely teach as if food could commend them to God. True, if you eat the wrong kind of food you will get a stomach ache, but it has NOTHING at all to do with your spiritual life.
Of them which believe and know the truth . . . if you are a TRUE believer, the Holy Spirit within you will warn you of false teachers. He will make known the Truth to you. False teachers were then, and still are a great threat to the church. The Lord Jesus and His apostles repeatedly warned against them (Mat.24:5,23-25; Lk.17:23-24; 21:8; Mk.13:21-23; Jn.5:43; Acts 20:28-31; 2 Thes.2:1-12; 2 Pet.3:3-7).
It is NOT enough that a teacher seems to know what he is talking about, seems to be disciplined and moral, or claims that he is speaking for God. If a teacher’s words oppose the Bible, his teaching is false. Like Timothy, we must guard against any teaching that causes believers to dilute or reject any aspect of their faith. Beware, false teaching can be very direct or extremely subtle. Believers should respond quickly when they sense false teaching is being promoted. The Truth does not mind honest questions. Maybe the teacher is ignorant of the error and appreciates the correction. But at least a firm warning may keep potential victims from the disastrous results of apostasy that Paul described. (1 Tim.1:3-7).
From the viewpoint of the world, the removal of believers at the Rapture will be great! They will be glad those “Jesus freaks” are gone! They do not realize how hard it will be for them, for they are going to enter the Tribulation Period, and it will NOT be very long before they change their minds. Many shall indeed turn to the Precious Jesus to save them! (Rev.7:9-10).
2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (KJV)
The second thing that must happen after the Rapture, is that the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. This evil man is still hidden from the world, even though his promoter (Satan), is secretly working, just as he has been from the time he fell from Heaven. Satan’s fall from Heaven is symbolically described in (Isa.14:12-14; Eze.28:12-18). Although both Passages refer to the kings of Babylon and Tyre, they also refer to the spiritual power behind those kings, meaning, Satan. Both these Passages describe WHY Satan fell, but they do not say exactly WHEN he fell. We do know that the angels were created before the Earth (Job 38:4-7). It seems that Satan fell BEFORE he tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden (Gen.3:1-14). So, Satan’s fall, must have happened sometime AFTER the time the angels were created and BEFORE he tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
The son of perdition . . . when this man is revealed the 7-year Tribulation period has already begun. Here he is called the man of sin. John calls him the antichrist. John is the only one who calls him that. The Antichrist has about 30 different titles in the Bible. The Antichrist is a subject of the Old Testament (Dan.7:8,11,20,21,,25; 9:26; 8:9-12,23-25; 11:36-45; 12:11). He is going to be Satan's man, who shall revive the Roman Empire. He COULD be in our midst today, but he will NOT be able to come in power or reveal who he is until after the Great Tribulation period begins.
This man of lawlessness is very similar to Daniel 11:29-34, and refers to the end-time trial as a period when the lawless ones will do lawlessness. The lawless ones will not understand. They will mislead, be misled or both. This doing of lawlessness in Daniel is directly linked to, if not partly explained by, the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up (Dan.11:31; 12:11), by the end-time enemy in the Temple.

Facts about the Antichrist:
#1. Called "the man of sin" because he will be the embodiment of lawlessness and leader of the great apostasy of (2 Thes.2:3,8-12; Rev.13:1-18; 14:9-13; 15:2-4; 16:2-12).
#2. Called "the son of perdition," because of being destined to destruction by his rebellion, like Judas or any other man who sells himself to Satan (2 Thes.2:3,8-12; Rev.13:2; Dan.8:24; 11:37-39).
#3. He shall be revealed (2 Thes.2:3).
#4. He will oppose God (2 Thes.2:4).
#5. He will exalt himself above God (2 Thes.2:4).
#6. He will accept worship as God (2 Thes.2:4).
#7. His worship will be carried on in the future Jewish temple at Jerusalem (2 Thes.2:4; Dan.8:10-14,23-27; 9:27; 11:36-45; 12:1-7; Mat.24:1-7,15-21; Rev.11:1-2; 13:1-18; 14:9-11; 15:2-4; 16:2-12; 20:4-6).
#8. He will claim to be God (2 Thes.2:4).
#9. He has a time to be revealed (2 Thes.2:6).
#10. Something now holds back or hinders his revelation (2 Thes.2:7).
#11. The spirit of lawlessness now works preparing for his revelation (2 Thes.2:7).
#12. The mystery of iniquity, or spirit of lawlessness cannot reveal him until the hinderer of lawlessness be taken out of the world (2 Thes.2:7).
#13. When that which hinderers lawlessness is taken out of the world, then shall that wicked be revealed (2 Thes.2:7-8).
#14. When the wicked is revealed he will live until the Second Coming of Christ, will head the armies at Armageddon and will be destroyed by Christ (2 Thes.2:8; Rev.19:11-19; Dan.7:24-28; 8:23-27; 9:27; 11:36-45; Mat.24:15-31).
#15. He is NOT God, he is a man, for he will be killed by Christ at Armageddon (2 Thes.2:8; Dan7:11; 8:25; Isa.11:4; Rev.19:11-21). This man is NOT Judas or anyone else who has already died (Heb.9:27).
#16. He will be Satan's agent and Satan’s last attempt to raise up a world dictator (2 Thes.2:9; Dan.8:24; 11:37-39; Rev.13:3).

#18. He will be a deceiver (2 Thes.2:10; Dan.8:24-25; 9:27; 11:36-45; Mat.24:15-31; Rev.13:1-18; 19:20).

#20. The reason people are deceived by him is that they have rejected Truth, loved sin, and refused salvation (2 Thes.11-12).
#21. He will be a strong delusion and a lie (2 Thes.2:11-12; Dan.8:10-14,25; 11:39).
#6. Travel Signs
The prophet Daniel says that in the time of the end “many shall run to and fro” (Dan.12:4). There will be much travel by many, worldwide. Was he right? You know he was!
When George Washington traveled from Philadelphia to New York for his inauguration, it took almost two weeks of hard travel. In today’s world, that same trip takes only a few minutes.
Isaac Newton was brilliant man. He discovered the laws of gravitation; he divided light into its seven parts; he invented the calculus. Mr. Newton had a strong faith in God, believing the Bible was absolutely true. Back in the 1600’s, relating to that Passage in Daniel 12, he said: “Personally I believe these words concern the end of time. Men will travel from country to country. There may be some means of travel invented which will enable people to go much more quickly than now.”
Newton went on to say that he believed that someone might invent some means of locomotion which would enable men to travel at the astonishing rate of fifteen or twenty miles per hour. The people thought that he was crazy . . . out of his mind because of his deep respect for God.
Our travel today that would have seemed absolutely impossible 100 years ago . . . is now common and ordinary. Transportation 100 years ago was mostly by horse and buggy. Cars were unique; airplanes were unknown; and the vast majority of people traveled just a few miles from home. s during an entire lifetime. Today it is totally different. Trains travel one hundred miles per hour; ships cross the Atlantic in a few days: planes travel across the Atlantic Ocean in a few hours; space ships have carried men completely around the Earth in less than ninety minutes. One can board a Concorde jet plane in London at 12:00 noon and arrive at Dulles Airport in Washington D.C. at 11:00 A.M. the same day because the plane travels faster than the Earth rotates. Men ARE running to and fro, and the prophet Daniel was granted wisdom to write that when that happens, it shall be the time of the end.
When Jesus spoke about His Coming again, He told a parable about ten virgins. Five were wise and five were foolish. Five had oil in their lamps and five had none. And while those who had none hurried to buy some, the bridegroom came, “And they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut” (Mat.25:10). These words make it QUITE clear that when Jesus Returns . . . there shall only be TWO groups of people . . . the wise who are prepared to go with Him, and the foolish who will be left behind. I personally believe that the Rapture COULD happen at any time, because of many prophecies in God’s Word. NO one knows the day that Jesus will come, that rests with God alone.
1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV)
God invites you to receive Christ Jesus. IF you refuse to believe Him, you call Him a “Liar”. Please, I beg you, do NOT call God a Liar. The invitation is still open, and our Gracious God in His mercy is withholding judgment. If you have never believed and accepted what Jesus did on the Cross for us, I beg you to do it now. God is exceptionally patient . . . BUT . . . He does have a limit! Admit that you have sinned against God and that the penalty for sin is death? Won’t you please believe that Jesus died as a Substitute to pay the penalty for your sins? Dear one, He will welcome you with open arms.
When you ask Jesus to come into your life, you will have to be obedient to God and live as He desires. You will have to make some changes . . . there are some things you will need to give up, like immoral places you once frequented, and you might lose some old friends. But when you think of what God gives you in return, it is a no-lose situation. All your sins will be forgiven sins! I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. God does NOT lie, ever!
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (KJV) . . . Consider, the east can never reach west, you just keep going east!
Jer. 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. (KJV) . . . This was told to the Jews, but it means ALL God’s TRUE chidren!
Mic. 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. (KJV) . . . When God casts our sins into the deepest sea . . . HE does NOT go fishing for them! They are there forever!
Heb. 8:12-13 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. (KJV) . . . He treats our confessed and repentant sins as if they were forgotten . . . because in His Eyes, our sins are no longer charged to us . . . because those past sins are as if they had passed completely out of His memory and mind. God treats the repentant sinner with gracious kindness and mercy just as if the sins never took place because of what Jesus did on the cross. The sins are removed as far as the east is from the west (Ps.103:12). The sins are cast into the deepest ocean (Mic.7:18-19). God remembers the confessed sins NO more (Jer.31:34; Heb.10:17).
Heb. 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (KJV)
I simply love the above verses! God is Holy, and He says that He hates sin. Sin makes Him angry. The wrath of God must be revealed against sin. Judgment must come. There is NO escape from it; there is NO way out. BUT . . . when we repent and mourn for our sin, He forgives us completely! He tosses our sins into the deepest sea and does NOT go fishing for them! A godless person, or nation, must pay the of sin, which is Hell., where as believers in Jesus know that that is what Jesus did on the cross for us.
We must understand that we all are sinners and that we all must come to God. We must walk humbly with God. We must come to Him confessing: “I am a sinner, and I need Your salvation.” We must graciously and gratefully ACCEPT His salvation . . . which is available ONLY through Jesus the Son of God, knowing that we could NEVER go to Heaven in our own. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
When we believe God, and accept Jesus into our hearts and souls (1 John.5:10-12), the awesome peace of God simply floods our soul; and at the end of our journey here on Earth, we will be escorted to Heaven (Luke 16:22), to our inheritance promised by God.
1 Pet. 1:4-5 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (KJV)
