6 Signs of Jesus’ Second Coming
Have Already Appeared

Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus promised us: “And, behold, I come quickly” (Rev. 22:12). As of today, all the signs of His Return have already appeared, and many TRUE Christians who believe and study prophecies, believe that the Day of the Lord is very near. Has the Lord already returned? NO, He has not yet come in the Rapture! When the Rapture takes place, those left behind will be in a state of shock, but the news media and our government will come up with some really bizarre and preposterous answers as to where these people went.
HOW should we live until that day when Jesus appears in the clouds to call TRUE believers home? Live according to God’s instructions in this Holy Word.
Luke 6:27-31 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. 31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. (KJV) . . . Treat others like you would want them to treat you.

Signs of the Second Coming of Jesus

#1. Earthquakes, Famines, Plagues and Wars

Mat. 24:6-7 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (KJV) . . . This is just the beginning!

War has broken out so often in recent years, such events as the overthrow of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, the conflict between India and Pakistan, the United States’ invasion of Iraq, and the unceasingly ever-increasing war between Israel and Palestine. Earthquakes, famines, fires, floods and plagues are also to be seen worldwide. Consider the “novel coronavirus,” which broke out in Wuhan, China in 2019 and has since spread throughout the world. There have also been severe forest fires in California and Australia, while a severe outbreak of locusts occurred in East Africa with many countries now facing famine. In January 2020, Indonesia suffered a flood, and Newfoundland in Canada was hit by a once-in-a-century snowstorm. Earthquakes have occurred in Elazig in Turkey, southern Cuba in the Caribbean, and elsewhere. From these signs, it can be seen that this prophecy has been fulfilled. ALL these signs have already happened and things will just get worse according to Jesus!

#2. The Appearance of Heavenly Irregularities

Luke 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (KJV) . . . Perplexity means doubt, anxiety; not knowing what to do to escape. Their fears would be so great that it would take away their courage and strength.
In recent years, there have been many instances of the moon turning blood red. For instance, during the two-year span of 2014 and 2015, a series of four “blood moons” occurred, and on January 31, 2018, there was a “super blue blood moon,” which appears only once every 150 years. Then, a “super blood wolf moon” appeared in January 2019. The prophesied phenomenon of the sun turning black has also appeared, and indeed, there have been many total solar eclipses, such as the eclipse in Singapore on December 26, 2019 and in Chile on July 2 of the same year. This already fulfilled prophecy is apparent in these phenomena.

#3. Churches Are Desolate and the Love of Believers Is Cold
Mat.24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (KJV)

Iniquity has abounded . . . the malice and wickedness of these outrageous persecutors, would greatly increase; the treachery and hatred of the apostates; the errors and heresies of false teachers; the wickedness that prevailed in the lives and conversations of some that were called Christians . . . it seems that all these are hinted at in this context, as making up the abounding iniquity spoken of here.
The love of many shall wax cold . . . this IS the case of many, today, but NOT of all . . . for in the midst of this abounding iniquity, there were some whose love to Christ, to His Gospel, and to the saints, did not decrease . . . BUT there were many (Mat.7:13), whose enthusiasm for Christ, was greatly dampened, because of the violence of persecution, and through the deceit of false brethren, they withdrew from the saints, for they knew not who to trust. Through the damnable heresies (2 Pet.2:1) of the false teachers, a form of godliness (2 Tim.3:5), and the vital heat of religion, many were almost lost; and because of a love of the world, and of carnal pleasure, love to the saints had grown very cold. This does not say their love shall be lost, but wax cold. This prophecy of apostasy has already been fulfilled, but it shall get worse and worse as we patiently await Jesus Coming for us in the clouds (1 Thes.4:13-18).

#4. The Appearance of False Christs

Mat.24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (KJV)

I think of that day, when the Lord looked down from the Mount of Olives, and looked down to the end of the age . . . to the Great Tribulation period. Near the end of the age many deceivers will claim to be Christ. We have them with us now, for there are many antichrists, but as we get closer to the end of the age, this shall greatly increase. In the end, there shall come the foretold Antichrist who will oppose Christ and set himself up as the only authority (Dan.7:20-26; 2 Thes.2:3).
This is the first sign, before the destruction of the city and temple of Jerusalem. Since there was a common expectation among the Jews of a Coming Messiah . . . One they thought would arise and set them free from the Roman yoke.

False Christs will emerge and deceive people. In recent years, false Christs have appeared and deceived people in countries such as China, South Korea and Japan. These false Christs do not possess the spirit of Christ, nor do they proclaim the Truth, yet they SAY that they are Christ, and they deceive people by imitating the Lord Jesus by performing miracles. Herein, the fulfillment of this prophecy is apparent.

#5. The Restoration of Israel

Mat.24:32-33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. (KJV)

I honestly cannot see how the fig tree could symbolize anything except the nation Israel. I think that the Lord is using the fig tree as a symbol of that land. Fig tree, symbol of Israel: (Jer.24; Joel 1:7,12; Nah.3:12; Hos.9:10; Mat.21:19-20; 24:32; Mk.11:20-21; 13:28).
Israel is a symbol, or comparison to the fig tree, which was a tree well known in Judea. Its putting forth its branches, leaves and fruit, was known by everyone there. When its branch is yet tender . . . you know that summer is near when the fig tree puts forth its leaves,

Know that it is near, even at the doors . . . meaning that the Son of Man is near, even at the doors; and as the fig tree putting forth its leaves, is a sign that summer is not only near, but is already come, for the Scripture divides the whole year only into two parts, summer and winter. Summer and winter: (Gen.8:22; Ps.74:17; Isa.18:6; Amos 3:15; Zec.14:8). Jesus says that these calamities and desolations on the Jews, were a sign that the Son of Man was come, was in the gates, displaying His power and His glory.
Many who believe in the Lord know that the fig tree’s tender branches and leaves refer to the restoration of Israel. When Israel is restored, the Lord’s Day will be near, and Israel was restored on May 14, 1948.
Clearly, this prophecy has been fulfilled.

#6. The Spread of the Gospel to the Ends of the Earth

Mat. 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (KJV)

The Gospel of the Kingdom is what John the Baptist preached . . . "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Mat.3:2). And the Lord Jesus began His ministry with the same words.
Mat.4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (KJV)
Jesus also sent His apostles out with that message (Mat.10). Jesus had presented His credentials and had been rejected as the Messiah. The cities which have been mentioned turned their backs upon Him, and so had Jerusalem. The Lord now turns His back on the nation Israel, no longer presenting to them the Kingdom. He is on His way to the cross, and His invitation below is to each individual, personally.
Up to a point, the Lord taught, "Repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand." He had presented His credentials and had been rejected as the Messiah. The cities which have been mentioned turned their backs on Him, and so had Jerusalem. The Lord now turns His Back on the nation Israel, He no longer presented the Kingdom to Israel.
Mat. 13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. (KJV)

Jesus had been in a literal house before He went to the sea side (verse 36), but I also think that we must consider the symbolism used here. "The same day went Jesus out of the house" . . . house . . . I believe that ‘house’ here speaks of the house of Israel. "And sat by the sea side" . . . the sea represents the Gentile nations. It seems to me that this was the time when our Lord Jesus turned to the Gentiles with His Message.

This symbolism used elsewhere in Scripture: (Ex.40:38; Eze.3:17; Isa.17:12-13; Rev.13:1)  https://hisservants.org/symbols_in_the_bible_h_s.htm
House = House of Israel: Ex.40:38; Ps.135:19; Jos.21:45; Jer.3:18; 10:1; 13:11; 23:8; Eze.3:4,17; 12:9; 17:2; 44:6; Amos 9:9; Mat.10:6; 15:24

Our Lord was leaving the nation of Israel and turning to the world. He is now speaking of WHAT will take place in the world until He returns as King. This was a huge change that took place in His teaching. Great multitudes were gathered together to hear Him.
And sat by the sea side . . . I think that possibly the Lord was fed up with all the hatred and rejection He received from the Jews (especially the leaders), and He would now bring them parables (difficult to understand stories). In order to preach to the people, "he began again to teach by the sea side" (Mat.13:2; Mark 4:1). This sea was the sea of Galilee, sometimes called the sea of Tiberias.

Our Lord Jesus is on His way to the Cross, and His Invitation below is to each individual, personally.
Mat.11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (KJV) . . . The labor and rest He speaks of here are those that distress the soul (vs.29). The labor and the heavy burden comes from sin . . . and the rest that follows is the forgiveness of our sins. Thank You Jesus! But my friend, physical burdens are also made lighter by coming to Jesus, because our soul is given strength to bear them. All humble and repentant sinners, come to an well-able and willing Saviour, trusting Him for grace, righteousness, life and salvation. Have YOU accepted His invitation?
