Last Days Millennial Views and Judgment
Many Christians, when they learn how argumentative the Millennian has been in Church history, wonder what all the confusion is about. What is so important about the Millennium? Does it really matter if we take it literally or not? The answer is that the Millennium is not just a farsighted extent of time . . . it is much more than that! It represents a wide-ranging way of looking at the Bible through an actual historical lens. The Millennium is an actual, future event foretold in the Word of God . . . and whether or not that event will really happen. Is the Millennium an actual, future event? Is it possible that the Book of Revelation (including the Millennium) is just a story . . . or is it something that shall most certainly shall happen?
The first-century apostles and the Early Church embraced a Millennial view, believing that Jesus would Return someday to rule for 1000 years, over an earthly Kingdom from His Seat in Jerusalem. It wasn’t until about the fourth century that Christian theologians began to think that the possibility the Promises about the Millennium were not to be taken literally.
Dear one, the “thousand years” of Revelation 20, is an actual period of time that is part of the Eternal Kingdom of God. Heaven on Earth (“New Jerusalem”) will be a wondrous, literal reality. The end-time confrontation that’s described in the closing chapters of Revelation (between King Jesus and the devil) shall REALLY happen. The Armageddon Fight will NOT be one lone battle, but will be a succession of earthly battles. The Judgments will be REAL. The Tribulation Period will also be REAL . . . and multitudes will perish. These all are ACTUAL events, which shall happen, some of which are found in symbolic terms.
What WE believe about the Millennium is very important, because it paves the way for how WE interpret the entire Word of God.
Premillennialism is the belief that Jesus’ Second Coming takes place BEFORE the Millennium. Postmillennialism believes that Jesus’ Second Coming takes place AFTER the Millennium. Amillennialism states there is NO precise Millennium, only a spiritual kingdom. According to those who believe in amillennialism, we are now in the Millennium . . . that is, a spiritual Kingdom.
Jesus [Messiah] Returns to Earth (Jerusalem) at the end of the age BEFORE the beginning of the literal, thousand-year Millennium. Jesus returns at the close of the Tribulation; where both phases of His Second Coming are summarized into one event.
Premillennialism was the position of the early church. Israel and the Church are two DISTINCT peoples of God, on similar tracks in God’s ongoing plan of the ages. The New Testament Church does NOT replace Israel. NO where in the Bible does it ever say the Church replaces Israel, NO where! That is a “damnable heresy” (2 Pet.2:1), taught by the devil’s false teachers.
Some features of eschatological judgment:
#1. Divine judgment is the final triumph of God’s will and the perfect display of His glory in history . . . revealing that ALL He intended has been accomplished.
#2. Divine Judgment is the statement that God is just . . . all affronts, blasphemies or insults to His glory shall be punished and all who give glory, honor and praise to God shall be rewarded.
#3. Divine Judgment is an enormous part of Jesus’ Ministry; for He shall be Judge of the living and the dead.
#4. Divine Judgment is the reminder that human and worldwide history move toward a goal, measured by the purposes of God.
#5. Divine Judgment is the end of all human accountability . . . all believers are held responsible for their love and works, all unbelievers for their hatred and rebellion.
#6. Divine Judgment is the most heartfelt reason for Christian missions . . . in the face of such judgment the world’s only hope of salvation lies in the Blood of Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
#7. Believers in Christ Jesus (1 John 5:10-13), should have NO fear of Divine Judgment.
In God’s Word, judgment and resurrection are closely related . . . because those who have died shall be resurrected to stand before the Lord to be judged. Amillennialists and postmillennialists try to lump all the resurrections and judgments together into one, unified resurrection/judgment event. To support this, they point to verses like Daniel 12:2, where all the resurrections and judgments SEEM to appear to be compacted into a singular event: Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (KJV) . . . READ this again: Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, SOME to everlasting life, refers to believers . . . SOME to shame and everlasting contempt . . . refers to the lost souls of the Old Testament who are raised for the Great White Throne judgment at the end of the Millennium (Rev. 20:11-15).
Daniel 12:2 does NOT state a one-time Judgment for believers and unbelievers! It clearly states TWO different Judgments!

If we read the Word of God properly, there will be much to be done during the change-over from the Tribulation to the Millennium. Here are some of the procedures that I think must take place during this time:
The Marriage of the Lamb . . . in Heaven, after the Rapture, when the Jesus “grants” His Bride the right “to be arrayed in fine linen.” Eph. 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (KJV) Rev. 19:6-8 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (KJV)
The Armageddon Fight . . . winds down on Earth, as the nations of the world tighten the noose on Jerusalem. Rev. 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. (KJV)
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb . . . on Earth, after the Marriage in Heaven and the following victory at Armageddon, most likely at the beginning of the Millennium. Rev. 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. (KJV)
The New Jerusalem . . . the “Father’s House.” John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (KJV) New Jerusalem shall be a completely NEW City, that descends from above and touches down in the Middle East at the beginning of the Millennium. Rev. 21:2-3 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
