The Easy Path vs the Hard Path
With each choice or decision that we face in life . . . there are almost always two options . . . take the easy path or the harder path. The easy path seems better because it matches our comfort zone and our personal present circumstances.
The harder path is full of so many unknowns which gives us the feeling of uneasiness. It demands more from us. It feels wearisome as these feelings reveal a possibility for growth and most likely a chance for greater contentment.
Joyous contentment does not branch out from the easy path! In reality, it comes from the difficult path. NO one can get truly happy from being a couch potato! People are happy when climbing the mountains, sailing the oceans or running marathons.
What will be your next decision when you come to the next junction of the road of life? Will you choose the easy way . . . or the hard path full of difficulties?

These verses can help you, no matter what trials you face.
Scripture Verses for Hard Times
<><><>Deut. 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV)
When we face a trial, we do NOT know what is in our future, and we forget that God knows. He rises above time. He is the God of our present and He is the God in the future as well. If we are wise, we will let Him guide us since He knows more about our lives than we do.
<><><>Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (KJV) . . . God wants us to take our troubles to Him, waiting for us to cast the burden onto Him. The problem with us, is sometimes we do that . . . and then . . . grab it right back! Let us have faith enough to trust Him to solve it for us, for He is much more than able to handle whatever we are facing, than we are. Let us pray for faith to cast out our doubts . . . so that we can cast our burden on the LORD, and leave it with Him! God understands that doubts will sometimes creep in, but He encourages us to trust that He will sustain us. He will help steady us no matter how shaky this world gets.
<><><>Psalm 91:14-16 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (KJV) . . . God is our Rescuer. The One who will come when we call and who will take us to safety. We must acknowledge that we know and love Him and He will give us His protection. When we call on Him, He will respond. And He does not just watch us in trouble, He delivers us out of it. And He honors us and blesses us with long life. God shows us He is looking out for us, and all He asks is that we call on Him.
<><><>Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV) . . . So often we spend time and energy trying to figure out what we should do when we have troubles. In reality, we lean on everything but God. This verse clearly tells us that IF we lean on Him, He will show us the right path to take, and He will make our paths straight. What a comfort that is. There is no path that God cannot make right and straight, even when it is a hard path!
<><><>Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (KJV) . . . Trials have a way of wearing us down and before long, we don’t think we can put one weary foot in front of another. The enemy of our soul whispers that we are alone and that we will never make it. God reassures us that He is with us. God will give us the strength we need; He will help us and will uphold us. And if God upholds us, we’re going to be okay.
<><><>Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? (KJV) . . . Often we think because our trial is big to us, that it will be too big for God almighty. But God is able to handle anything we go through, and He does that for every person who calls on Him.
<><><>Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? (KJV) . . . God often speaks about the lowly sparrows around us. He tells us that we are worth more to Him than these tiny birds. Dear one, IF the God of the Universe cares about the welfare of little birds, think how much more He care about us, the ones who were made in His own image. He tells us that we have no need to worry, just as those little birds never give a second thought as to where or what they will eat. Dear one, let us instead trust our Father’s Hand.
<><><>John 14:26-27 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV) . . . God has NOT left His TRUE children alone in this world. To those of us who know Jesus as Saviour, He has given us His Holy Spirit Who empowers us. And dear one, it is His Spirit who reminds us of what God says in His Word. The peace God gives us is a peace the world cannot even begin to understand. It is a peace that settles our hearts and give our minds rest.
<><><>1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (KJV) . . . When we face a trial, that seems like it will never end, God is a good and gracious and loving God! He knows exactly how long our trials will endure and He will give us the strength we need to get through them.
<><><>1 Peter 1:2-4 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. (KJV) . . . Born again to a Living Hope! We have an eternal home in Heaven, with our name on it! Awesome!
<><><>2 Cor. 5:6-8 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV) . . . We must always remember that the soul does not die. The soul never dies, but goes to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is ONLY the body that is put to sleep (dies). It is ONLY the body that must be changed in order to gain access to Heaven. We must also remember that there will be a certain generation that will NOT go through death, but their bodies will still need to be changed, to be fitted for the glory of Heaven.
A Prayer for Hard Times
Lord, help us when we face trials in this life. Help us to choose the correct path. Help us to call on You, knowing You are always hear us. Help us to lean on You instead of leaning on our own understanding. Give us the faith and strength we need, and remind us always that You are aware of what comes our way. You see even one sparrow that falls and we are more important to You than sparrows. Thank you Lord, for Your Promise to never leave nor forsake us, thank You for the comfort of knowing that You have never broken a Promise and that You never will. Thank You for Your awesome love that grants us this wondrous peace that we cannot get anywhere else but You. We ask theses things in Jesus’ holy and precious name. Amen.
We make many decisions every day.
Pray to decide the right way.
