God Cannot Lie

Judgments from God on Many People

When God speaks, He means what He says, whether it is gracious Promises to the righteous OR Promises of His wrath to the wicked. He shall fulfill His Words. You can count on it!

On the old world, the Flood.

Background. The wickedness of the world. Genesis 6:1-7 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, [2] That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. . . . The children of God, who at first preserved true worship of God, corrupted it and themselves by marrying ungodly women. Some commentators say the sons of God were wicked angels.

     [3] And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. . . .God was extremely displeased with their new lifestyle, and limits the existence of the old world to 120 years.

     [4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. [5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. . . . The issue of those improper connections termed giants, An affecting description of the depravity of the world,  God threatens the destruction of every living creature.

     [6] And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. [7] And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. [KJV] . . . God repented . . . I think here it means that God grieved that man had turned so far away from what God had wanted him to be. God CANNOT change His nature (Mal.3:6; Jam.1:17); but, He can change His methods of dealing with sinful mankind . . . from being merciful and patient, He would now show Himself a God of judgment. That sinful, immoral race had filled up the measure of their iniquities. God would now bring about a terrible display of His justice (Ecc.8:11).

In plain words, in one verse . . . this is WHY God chose to bring judgment to the old world.

Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [KJV] . . . Do people not understand that God HATES wickedness!

Warnings from God. Genesis 6:7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. [KJV] . . . Furious because of the sins of the people, God threatens to destroy them.

Genesis 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. [KJV] . . . God repeats His warning . . . then gives them over 100 years to repent and turn to Him. Not one person repents!

Fulfillment of judgment. Genesis 7:11-12 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. [12] And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. [KJV] . . . This must have been in the beginning of the six hundredth year of his life; for he was a year in the ark, (Gen.8:13); and he lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood, and died nine hundred and fifty years old, (Gen.9:29).

Genesis 7:13-16In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; [14] They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. [15] And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. [16] And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. . . . The Lord shut him in . . . WOW! The Lord took Noah under his special protection! God shut righteous Noah (Gen.6:8-9) IN the ark, and He shut the unrepentant sinners OUT! God had waited 120 years for that generation to repent, but they refused. The measure of their iniquities was filled to the top, and God's wrath came down on them. God "shutting him in" reveals that Noah had become the special object of divine care and protection, just like all those people today who trust Jesus as their Saviour and Lord . . . BUT to those without the grace of God . . . it was over for them (Mat.25:10). Consider this my friend!

The Flood, just as God promised!

Genesis 7:17-24 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. [18] And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. [19] And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. [20] Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. . . . The waters increased, and bare up the ark . . . the water seems to have raised gradually as to be scarcely noticeable to those aboard. Fifteen cubits upward . . . and the mountains were covered . . . over 22 feet above the highest peaks.

     [21] And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: [22] All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. [23] And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. [24] And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days. [KJV] . . . Can you really comprehend the wrath of God? Can you SEE just how angry He can get with sin? He takes much more than you or I ever would! Just look at the world today. Today's world too is filling up their measure of iniquity! God's wrath is not far off from this world . . . for the United States!

And the waters prevailed upon the Earth 150 days. With the breaking up of the fountains of the great deep (7:11), and the raining forty days and nights, had raised the waters fifteen cubits (about 22 + feet) above the highest mountains. After the 40 days it seems to have stayed at this height for 150 days more.

Gen.7:21-22 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: [22] All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. [KJV]

God fulfilled His Promise! He does NOT ever lie! God CANNOT lie! . . . . . Believe Him!
