"Does the Bible prophesy a one-world government and a one-world currency in the end times?"
The Bible does NOT use the phrase “one-world government” or “one-world currency” in referring to the end times. BUT . . . it does provide ample evidence to enable us to draw the conclusion that BOTH will exist under the rule of the Antichrist in the last days.
In his apocalyptic vision in the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John sees the “beast,” also called the Antichrist, rising out of the sea "having seven heads and ten horns" (Rev.13:1). If you also consider this vision of John and the one that Daniel had (Dan.7:16-24), we can see that some sort of world system will be set up by the beast, the most powerful “horn,” who will defeat the other nine and will then wage war against TRUE "Christians." This ten-nation union is also seen in Daniel’s image of the statue in Dan.2:41-42, where he sees the final world government consisting of ten nations represented by the ten toes of the statue. Whoever the ten are and however they come to power, Scripture is clear that the beast will either destroy them or reduce their power to extremes. In the end, they will do as he says.
Revelation 13:1-9 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. (KJV)
Daniel 7:16-24 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. 17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. 18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. 19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. (KJV)
John tells us that this ruler of this vast empire shall have power and great authority, given to him by Satan himself (Rev.13:2). Antichrist shall be followed and receiving worship from “all the world” (13:3-4), as he shall have power over “all kindreds, tongues and nations” (13:7). Doesn't it seem logical to you that from the Bible's Words, that we may assume that this "person" is the leader of a one-world government which is recognized as sovereign over ALL other governments?
It is hard to imagine how SO many different government systems that are in power today, would willingly SUBMIT to a single ruler, but the Bible says it shall happen and I believe it. I think that the wars will have gone on so, that when Antichrist comes on the scene after the Rapture (1 Thes.4:13-18) and makes that peace treaty with Israel (Dan.9:27), the world will simply accept him because of the peace he brings.
Once empowered by Satan, the beast (Antichrist) will move to establish absolute control over all peoples of the Earth to accomplish the long awaited end of Satan's plan . . . the worship Satan has been lusting for ever since being thrown out of Heaven (Isa.14:12-14).
One way of doing this is by controlling ALL commerce, and that is where the idea of a one-world currency comes in. Revelation 13:16-17 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (KJV)
John tells us of some sort of mark which will be required in order to buy and sell. God seals His people, as in Rev.7, and Satan will seal his people. Anyone who refuses the mark will NOT be able to buy food, clothing, go to doctors or any other necessity of life. It is most likely, the vast majority of people in the world at that time will submit and accept the mark simply to survive . . . BUT . . . if and when they do, it will be BAD news for them (Rev.14:9-11; 16:1-2). This is where the ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT is heading today, under the watchful eye of Satan! It is EVIL! BEWARE!!!
Anyone who accepts the devil's mark turns God away from them for eternity. BEWARE! All those who do NOT accept the devil's mark will have eternal victory! (Rev.20:4). Rev.13:16 makes it quite clear that this will be a universal, one-world system of control where everyone, rich and poor, great and small, will bear the mark on their hand or forehead. There is a much speculation as to WHAT this mark will be, but the technologies that are available right now could accomplish it very easily, quite possibly like the micro-chip placed in pets for identification.
Those who are left behind after the Rapture of the Church (1 Thes.4:13-18) will be faced with a horrible choice . . . accept the mark of the beast to survive . . . OR . . . face starvation and horrific persecution by the Antichrist and his followers, and most likely death. But those who do come to Christ during this time, those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Rev.13:8), will choose to endure, even to martyrdom.
We are living in the Last Days. We all must watch as we wait for the Coming of the Lord Jesus at the Rapture.
